BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2026 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A man is suing “The Boca Raton” and several related companies, claiming he was injured when he stepped on a sharp object inside a hotel pool that he says was poorly maintained. Ernest Davidson just filed the lawsuit in Palm Beach County Circuit Court, naming Boca Owner, LLC, doing business as Beach Club at The Boca Raton, Resort Hotel Purchasing Group, Inc., and One Stop Pool Pros, Inc. as defendants. “The Boca Raton” was formerly respected as “The Boca Resort.”

The alleged incident occurred on May 15, 2022, at the hotel property located at 900 S. Ocean Blvd. in Boca Raton. According to the complaint, Davidson was lawfully using the pool at the property when he stepped on a sharp object inside the water, injuring his toe. The lawsuit alleges the pool was poorly maintained, creating a dangerous condition that the defendants knew or should have known about, and that they failed to warn guests or correct the hazard prior to the incident.

The complaint also cites an improperly elevated rug in the lobby as an additional dangerous condition. Davidson is seeking damages in excess of $50,000, and the complaint lists a range of alleged injuries and losses including pain and suffering, disability, disfigurement, permanent scarring, mental anguish, loss of enjoyment of life, hospitalization expenses, medical costs, and lost earnings.

The losses are described as either permanent or continuing in nature. He is represented by attorney Scott Merl of Coral Gables. The Boca Raton has not yet responded to the suit. Read our previous coverage of “The Boca Raton” here.
