Ignore The Call From 754-254-4046.

This time, it’s a company claiming to be part of FPL and promising to reduce your electric rates. If you receive a call from 754-254-4046 which is a Coral Springs number, send it to voicemail spam. It’s part of what appears be a scam.
We received a call from the company on Thursday and let the call play out for several minutes. We were told that the company has a special relationship with FPL and is authorized to undercut their electric rates as part of the special program. We asked questioned about the special program, and expressed interest in what the man had to say. But when he started asking for specific electric bill information, we let him know that he had called into a newsroom and that cold calling is a violation of federal law. That’s when the man hung up.
The man claimed to be calling from a company called “NOVA Solar.” There is a Nova Solar and Engineering in Broward County but its phone number is not the 754-254-4046 that the caller used. We note that a popular scam is claiming to represent a legitimate company, only to use their good name to entice customers into a company that is actually completely different.
We encourage you to NEVER make a deal or invite into your home any company that calls you seeking business. At best, any company that takes part in this practice is questionable. At worst, it’s a way that you can end burglarized or dead. If you are concerned about a deal that you may have made on the phone, call your local police department and let them know what happened.
