PALM BEACH COUNTY, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2026 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A 16-year-old girl from Riviera Beach was killed early Wednesday morning in a multi-vehicle crash on northbound Interstate 95 just north of Blue Heron Boulevard, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. The crash happened around 12:28 a.m.
Troopers say the teen, identified on a GoFundMe page as Tory Ann McFarlane, lost control of her 2020 gray Nissan Altima and veered onto the outside shoulder, where she struck a guardrail and concrete wall. The car bounced back into the travel lanes and came to a stop in the outside center lane. McFarlane had exited the vehicle and was leaning into the back seat when a 2020 gray BMW X3, driven by a 21-year-old man from Jupiter, slammed into the side of her car — striking her in the process. She was thrown from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.
A third vehicle, a 2009 white BMW X5 driven by a 49-year-old man from Port St. Lucie, was also northbound when the driver spotted the disabled vehicles in the roadway. He attempted to swerve but still clipped the Nissan. His car rotated and the rear struck the concrete wall. He was not injured. The driver of the BMW X3 was transported to St. Mary’s Hospital with non-fatal injuries. FHP says the investigation remains ongoing.
A GoFundMe campaign set up for McFarlane’s family describes her as a happy, free-spirited young woman who was just days away from a major milestone. Friends say she was set to graduate high school the Monday following the crash. The fundraiser describes her as a daughter, sister, and best friend whose sudden death has left her family, classmates, and community devastated. Donations are being sought to help cover funeral and memorial expenses.
Tory Ann McFarlane was 16 years old.
