BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2026 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — Most City of Boca Raton parks, beaches, beachfront parks and playgrounds will keep regular hours this Memorial Day, but a long list of recreational facilities, libraries and offices will operate on modified schedules or be closed altogether on Monday, May 25.
Among the highlights: The Boca Raton Community Center will be closed for the holiday, while Sugar Sand Community Center will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and the Swim & Racquet Community Center — including its splash pad and playground — will run from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Sugar Sand Park Carousel will spin from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Racquet players, swimmers and golfers will still be able to play and swim. The Boca Raton Tennis Center will be open from 8 a.m. to noon, Patch Reef Park Paddle & Racquet Club from 7:30 a.m. to 10 p.m., and The Racquet Center from 7:30 a.m. to noon. The Swim Center Pool will run from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Meadows Park Pool from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. On the golf side, the Boca Raton Golf & Racquet Club opens at 7 a.m. and the Alan C. Alford Red Reef Family Golf Course opens at 7:30 a.m., with both staying open until sunset.
Both the Downtown Library and Spanish River Library will be closed for the day, as will the Cemetery Office. The Tim Huxhold Skate Park and Shuffleboard Courts will operate from 1 to 5 p.m., the Sugar Sand Field House from noon to 5 p.m., Gumbo Limbo Nature Center from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Park Rangers HQ from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
There will be no sanitation pickup on Memorial Day itself. Monday routes will shift a day later to Tuesday, May 26, and Tuesday routes will roll over to Wednesday, May 27.
