
BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2026 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — The City of Boca Raton will mark Memorial Day on Monday, May 25, with a one-hour ceremony at Boca Raton Cemetery honoring the nation’s service members who died in the line of duty. The observance begins at 9 a.m. at 451 SW 4th Avenue and is open to the public.
The ceremony will feature a processional led by the City of Boca Raton Police and Fire Rescue Services Honor Guard, along with the Boca Raton High School NJROTC Color Guard and Cadets. The Coastman Chorus will perform the National Anthem and a patriotic medley, and speakers will include retired U.S. Navy veteran and City Manager Mark Sohaney; Mario Bai, vice flotilla commander of Flotilla 3-6 of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary; and Madeline “Maddy” Mollach, a U.S. Air Force veteran and commander of American Legion Post 277.
Mayor Andy Thomson will deliver a proclamation and wreath presentation, followed by a flag folding ceremony and “Taps” performed by Eric Forman of Taps Across America.
A second event follows at 10:30 a.m. in front of City Hall, on the south side facing Palmetto Park Road, where officials will unveil a new plaque dedicating Memorial Park. Parking is available on the west side of City Hall, and limited seating will be provided.
All Boca Raton city offices will be closed Monday in observance of the holiday.
