BOYNTON BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2026 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A man selling speakers out of his car in a Boynton Beach parking lot ended up in handcuffs after a brawl that started with accusations of a scam and ended with a teenager taking a punch to the face.

Collin Robert Scott, 31, of Hollywood, was arrested May 14 at the Publix located at 501 SE 18th Ave. in Boynton after Boynton Beach Police responded to reports of a fight in progress. When officers arrived, they found Scott bleeding from the mouth. A second man had visible bruising on his face.

According to the probable cause affidavit obtained by BocaNewsNow.com, Scott told police he was selling speakers in the lot when a man jumped out of a car, accused him of “making deals,” and punched him. But the other side of the story was different. A witness — who said he had bought something from Scott before and been scammed — spotted an older man about to make a transaction and tried to warn him. Scott allegedly responded with threats, began pushing the witness’s vehicle, threw a punch at the man through the car window, and then kicked him. When the witness got out, the two began fighting. A 16-year-old girl who tried to intervene was struck on the right side of the face by Scott, according to the affidavit. Publix CCTV footage reviewed by investigators confirmed the sequence of events.
