BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2026 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A critical one-car crash Thursday afternoon led to the closure of SW 18th Street just east of Powerline Road.

SW 18th was closed around 2:45 p.m. Boca Raton Police continue to investigate the crash as of 3:25 p.m. Preliminary information provided to BocaNewsNow.com indicates one person driving a vehicle slammed into something and became trapped in the car. The person was unconscious when rescuers arrived at the scene. The driver later regained consciousness.

It’s unclear what led to the crash. The victim was rushed to Delray Medical Center. No other injuries were reported. SW18th remains closed in the area as of 3:30 p.m.
