BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2026 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A Boca Raton man named Dumbroff allegedly made a dumb choice inside of O’Briens Pub in Boca Raton. Joseph Eric Dumbroff, 36, faces two counts of simple battery following an incident that unfolded last Saturday night.
According to a Boca Raton Police Department arrest report reviewed by BocaNewsNow.com, officers responded to a report of a battery in progress. A patron at the bar told investigators he observed Dumbroff becoming disruptive and attempted to calm him down. During that exchange, the affidavit states, Dumbroff grabbed the patron and walked him toward the entrance of the bar before suddenly shoving him backward with both hands.
A bouncer at the establishment told police he also witnessed the shove and began walking toward Dumbroff to have him removed. As the bouncer approached, Dumbroff allegedly struck him in the face with his left arm. When officers read Dumbroff his Miranda rights, he said he understood them but claimed he did not recall starting the altercation — saying only that he remembered being approached by a couple of individuals he said jumped him.
Dumbroff is charged with two counts of simple battery — both misdemeanors. His bond was set at $1,000 per count. A hearing is scheduled at Palm Beach County Court.
