BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2026 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A couple living in Broken Sound is facing a lawsuit from the community for allegedly failing to pay tens of thousands of dollars in fees and dues. Broken Sound Club, Inc. is suing homeowners Thomas and Gabriela Diangelis, seeking to recover roughly $50,000. The complaint, originally filed in 2025 in county court, was just re-filed in circuit court once the outstanding amount surpassed $50,000. The suit alleges the couple has failed to pay dues, fees, and assessments owed on their Sports Membership Broken Sound since purchasing their home on NW 66th Drive in April 2022.
According to the lawsuit reviewed by BocaNewsNow.com, the Diangelises signed a “Membership Purchase Agreement” with Broken Sound Club on March 29, 2022, paying $90,000 for a Sports Membership. The community mandates that anyone who acquires title to a lot in the community must become and remain a Club member in good standing throughout their ownership.
The club’s August 31, 2025 account statement showed a balance due of $39,656.24, with more than $27,500 of that amount over 90 days past due. Once late fees and interest were added during the course of the legal action, the total allegedly topped $50,000. The balance continues to grow as of June of 2026.
Broken Sound Club is suing full repayment of the outstanding balance, pre-judgment interest, court costs, and attorneys’ fees. The club is represented by the Boca Raton law firm Laing, Weicholz, Schley, PLLC.
