DELRAY BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2026 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — U.S. 441 in West Delray Beach is open again as of 2:45 p.m. following a critical crash before noon just north of Atlantic Avenue.

The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office tells BocaNewsNow.com that two people were injured, one critically, in the crash between a car and gas tanker. The driver of the car sustained critical injuries and was rushed to Delray Medical Center. The driver of the truck was also hospitalized but not with life-threatening injuries.

It’s unclear what led to the crash. There is extreme construction in the area and a confusing maze of cones and equipment.

PBSO says no charges have been filed as the investigation continues.
