Walsh, the man whose identity we sought after officials withheld booking information following his arrest for DUI and assault on an officer, is a police officer himself. Walsh was arrested by PBSO Saturday night following an apparent DUI crash in unincorporated Boca Raton. Arresting Deputies say Walsh became combative at the scene and again at West Boca Medical Center.

BocaNewsNow.com learned Tuesday that Walsh is a police officer with the West Palm Beach Police Department. Officials with the department confirmed our information and issued this statement:

“The West Palm Beach Police Department holds all employees to the highest standards of professionalism and conduct,” said West Palm Beach Police Spokesperson Rachel Leitão. “This conduct is inconsistent with those standards. As a result, the officer has been placed on administrative leave pending further investigation.”

Walsh was arrested following the crash at SW 18th Street and Carolwood Lane in Boca Raton around 7:45 p.m. on Saturday. An arrest report says he immediately became combative and threatening to deputies. They charged him with battery on an officer, resisting an officer, simple assault on an officer, DUI, refusing to submit to a DUI test, and refusing to accept/sign citation or post bond.

Broward County Sheriff's Office booking report for Timothy J. Walsh, including personal information such as arrest details, physical description, and place of birth.
Timothy Walsh was arrested by the Broward Sheriff’s Office in 2018. He told deputies that he was law enforcement.

This isn’t Walsh’s first arrest. Timothy Walsh was taken into custody in Broward County for DUI back in 2018. Court records notably do not show the disposition of the case, but Walsh sued BSO — and Sheriff Tony Gregory — for more than $100,000. The case was first filed in circuit court but then transferred to federal court where it came to a confidential conclusion.

Walsh is currently facing at least two lawsuits in Broward County for credit card debt totaling more than $10,000 — according to public documents reviewed by BocaNewsNow.com, in addition to the multiple criminal charges filed by PBSO in Palm Beach County. We note charges — and lawsuits — are only allegations.

Officer Walsh could not be reached for comment, but is invited to respond to our reporting.
