BOYNTON BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2026 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — Two years after Caryn Chomsky was fatally struck while running on a sidewalk in Delray Beach, her family is turning grief into purpose with a scholarship honoring the physical therapist’s legacy. June 9 marked the two-year anniversary of her death, and her family launched a GoFundMe campaign to establish a permanent endowed scholarship for aspiring physical therapists.

Chomsky’s family describes her as a devoted mother, wife, and an exceptional physical therapist who viewed her work as a calling rather than a career. She spent her professional life helping patients recover mobility, confidence, and independence after serious injuries — celebrating every milestone, no matter how small.

The Caryn Chomsky Physical Therapy Scholarship aims to support future physical therapy students in perpetuity, keeping her dedication to healing others alive through the next generation of practitioners. As of Tuesday, the campaign — organized by Ayal Chomsky and listed under the Funerals & Memorials category on GoFundMe — had raised $6,553 toward a $45,000 goal from 39 donations. GoFundMe shared the campaign with BocaNewsNow.com.

“The impact of her loss remains deeply felt by her family, friends, colleagues, patients, and all who had the privilege of knowing her,” the Chomsky/Stolper Family wrote on the fundraising page. Those who wish to contribute can find the campaign at GoFundMe.com by searching Caryn Chomsky’s name.
