Ron Axelrod’s “Ronnie’s Shoes” Allegedly Sold Fake Louis Vuitton, Hermès, YSL, Prada From West Atlantic Avenue.

DELRAY BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2026 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A Delray Beach man who operated a shoe store on West Atlantic Avenue was arrested Wednesday after a Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office investigation found he was selling counterfeit designer handbags — including fake Louis Vuitton and Goyard items — out of a hidden back room. Ronald C. Axelrod, 85, was taken into custody at his business, Ronnie’s Shoes, located at 6578 W. Atlantic Avenue, and charged with one count of sell or offer for sale counterfeit goods, a second-degree felony.
The investigation began in late May when Crime Stoppers received an anonymous tip alleging that counterfeit merchandise was being sold at the location. An undercover detective entered the store June 3rd with $500 in investigative funds and was eventually escorted into a back bathroom where wire racks displayed multiple designer-style handbags, belts, and other items. The detective purchased two bags — one purporting to be a Louis Vuitton “Coussin” and another purporting to be a Goyard tote — for a combined $299. The authentic versions of those bags retail for several thousand dollars each.
Following the undercover buy, PBSO submitted the items to brand authenticators. A licensed Louis Vuitton representative confirmed that the bag was fraudulent — the authentic “Coussin” carries an MSRP of $5,100. The counterfeit Goyard bag was identified as a copy of the Goyard PM St. Louis white tote, which retails between $1,100 and $2,600. Representatives from A Action Investigations & Security Inc. assisted PBSO and identified more than $20,000 worth of counterfeit merchandise on-site, including bags bearing Louis Vuitton, Hermès, YSL, Chanel, Christian Dior, and Prada branding displayed on makeshift wire racks in the store’s back room.
Axelrod was arrested and booked into the Palm Beach County jail where he remains held Saturday morning on $10,000 bond.
