Another week of traffic trouble in Boca Raton, Delray Beach, Boynton Beach, and across Palm Beach County.

MAJOR CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS
INTERSTATE 95
S.R. 9/I-95 at S.R. 804/Boynton Beach Boulevard Interchange Improvements Project

  • Description: This 2.354-mile project on I-95 just north and south of Boynton Beach Boulevard, including the on- and off-ramps, and on Boynton Beach Boulevard from Old Boynton Road to NW 3rd Avenue in Boynton Beach, involves bridge widening, adding turn lanes, milling, resurfacing, signal upgrades, and pedestrian/bicycle path enhancements.

  • Cost/Completion: $64 million / Early 2029
  • I-95 Mainline Impacts:
    • Pattern Change: The I-95 southbound outside deceleration lane approaching the exit ramp to Boynton Beach Boulevard is closed through late 2026 for widening. One deceleration lane remains open to access the exit ramp.
    • Nightly Lane Closures: One lane of I-95 may be closed in each direction beginning at 8 p.m., with up to three lanes closed from 10 p.m. until 6 a.m., Sunday night through Thursday night. A fourth lane may be closed overnight if needed.
  • I-95 Ramp Impacts:
    • Pattern Change: The I-95 southbound entrance ramp from Boynton Beach Boulevard has temporary barrier walls on both sides through late 2026. Traffic is slightly shifted.
    • Nightly Closures: Entrance and exit ramps at Boynton Beach Boulevard may have one lane closed nightly as needed, 9 p.m. to 6 a.m., Sunday night through Thursday night. One lane will remain open.
    • CRITICAL: FULL NIGHTLY RAMP CLOSURES (9 PM to 6 AM, Sun–Thu):
    • I-95 NB Exit Ramp to Boynton Beach Blvd: Closed nightly as needed. Detour via I-95 northbound to Woolbright Road, east to U.S. 1, and north to Boynton Beach Boulevard.
    • I-95 SB Exit Ramp to Boynton Beach Blvd: Closed nightly as needed. Detour via I-95 southbound to Gateway Boulevard, east to U.S. 1, and south to Boynton Beach Boulevard.
    • I-95 NB Entrance Ramp from Boynton Beach Blvd: Closed nightly as needed. Detour via Boynton Beach Boulevard east to U.S. 1 or west to Congress Avenue, then north to Gateway Boulevard to access I-95.
    • I-95 SB Entrance Ramp from Boynton Beach Blvd: Closed nightly as needed. Detour via Boynton Beach Boulevard east to U.S. 1 or west to Congress Avenue, then south to Woolbright Road to access I-95.
    • (Note: Only one ramp at this interchange may be closed at any given time).
  • Boynton Beach Boulevard Impacts:
    • Pattern Change: Eastbound Boynton Beach Boulevard from west of NW 8th Street to east of W. Industrial Avenue is reduced from three lanes to two through late 2026.
    • Intersection Restriction: The northbound outside turn lane of NW 8th Street at Boynton Beach Boulevard is closed; only one lane remains for all movements.
    • Nightly Lane Closures: Old Boynton Road to NW 3rd Avenue may have one lane closed in each direction, 9 p.m. until 6 a.m., Sunday night through Saturday night.
    • Turn Lane Closure: The westbound turn lane from Boynton Beach Boulevard to the I-95 southbound entrance ramp may be closed nightly, 9 p.m. until 6 a.m., Sunday night through Thursday night. Detour via W. Industrial Ave. to U-turn onto eastbound Boynton Beach Boulevard.
    • CRITICAL: FULL INTERSECTION CLOSURE: NW 7th Street at Boynton Beach Boulevard may be closed as needed through early summer 2026 for drainage work. Detour via NW 1st Avenue and NW 8th Street.

S.R. 805/U.S. 1/North Dixie Highway and S.R. 9/I-95 Lighting Project

  • Description: A safety project to retrofit and install new LED lighting along U.S. 1 (from north of Lucerne Ave. to the West Palm Beach Canal) and I-95 (from 12th Avenue South to 10th Avenue North) in Lake Worth Beach.

S.R. 9/I-95 Ramps Safety Improvement Project

  • Description: High-friction surface installation and safety modifications on the I-95 eastbound Okeechobee Blvd on-ramp, westbound PGA Blvd off-ramp, and Indiantown Road ramps.

  • CRITICAL: FULL NIGHTLY RAMP CLOSURES (8 PM to 6 AM):
    • I-95 NB Off-Ramp to Westbound Indiantown Rd: CLOSED Sunday, June 14, and Monday, June 15 for pavement markings (Tuesday, June 16 is a contingency date). Detour via Indiantown Road east, U-turn at 68th Terrace N./Island Way, and travel west.
    • I-95 NB On-Ramp from Eastbound Okeechobee Blvd: CLOSED Sunday, June 14 for repairs (Monday, June 15 is a contingency date). Detour east on Okeechobee Blvd, U-turn at Parker Avenue, and travel west to the northbound ramp.

SOUTHERN PALM BEACH COUNTY

  • Description: A 2.76-mile widening and reconstruction project on Atlantic Avenue (from west of U.S. 441 to east of the Florida’s Turnpike) and on U.S. 441 (from south of Rio Grande Ave to south of Tivoli Island Blvd) in Delray Beach and Boynton Beach.

  • U.S. 441 / S.R. 7 Traffic Impacts:
    • Daytime Lane Closures (7 a.m. – 5 p.m., Mon–Fri): One northbound lane closed from Rio Grande Ave to south of Atlantic Ave; one northbound lane closed from north of Atlantic Ave to Tivoli Isles Blvd; one southbound lane closed from Tivoli Isles Blvd to north of Atlantic Ave; one southbound lane closed from south of Atlantic Ave to south of 105th Drive South.
    • Nightly Lane Closures (8:30 p.m. – 6 a.m., Sun–Thu/Mon–Fri): Matching the daytime limits above, alternating single-lane closures will occur overnight for paving.
    • Turn Lane Closure: One eastbound turn lane on Atlantic Avenue from the Wawa back entrance to U.S. 441 may be closed from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
    • Sidewalk Closure: The northbound sidewalk between Atlantic Avenue and Saturnia Isles Boulevard is closed. Pedestrians are detoured to the southbound sidewalk. Motorists exiting Rio Grande will be forced to travel south.
  • S.R. 806 / Atlantic Avenue Traffic Impacts:
    • Nightly Closures (8:30 p.m. – 6 a.m., Sun–Thu): Single eastbound and westbound lane closures between Lyons Road and the Turnpike for striping. Single lane closures in each direction between U.S. 441 and Lyons Road for paving.
    • Permanent Turn Lane Closure: The westbound left-turn lane on Atlantic Avenue between Mulvehill Road and U.S. 441 is permanently closed until widening operations are completed.
  • Smith Sundy Road Traffic Impacts:
    • Nightly Closures (8:30 p.m. – 6 a.m., Sun–Thu): One lane closed in each direction between the Storage Zone Gate and Atlantic Avenue for reconstruction. Flaggers will direct traffic.

Atlantic Ave. & Homewood Blvd. / Okeechobee Blvd. & Haverhill Road Intersection Project

  • Description: Signal replacement and lane extension improvements across two major intersections in Palm Beach County.

  • Cost/Completion: $3.2 million / Late 2026
  • Atlantic Ave. & Homewood Blvd. Intersection Impacts:
    • Intermittent single-lane closures in each direction, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday, June 15 through Friday, June 19, for concrete, sodding, and signal work. Flaggers will assist.
  • Okeechobee Blvd. & Haverhill Road Intersection Impacts:
    • Nightly Closure: One eastbound lane on Okeechobee Blvd (east and west of Haverhill Rd) will be closed from 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 16, until 5 a.m. Wednesday, June 17, for pole removal.
    • Daytime Closures (7 a.m. – 5 p.m., Mon–Fri, June 15–19): Intermittent lane closures on eastbound/westbound Okeechobee Blvd, northbound/southbound Haverhill Road, and the intersection’s right-turn lanes for sodding and signalization work. Flaggers will handle traffic.

CENTRAL PALM BEACH COUNTY
(BOYNTON BEACH, LAKE WORTH BEACH, ROYAL PALM BEACH, WEST PALM BEACH, PALM BEACH)
S.R. 804/Boynton Beach Boulevard Resurfacing Project

  • Description: Roadway milling, resurfacing, and median reconstruction from east of Orchid Grove Trail to Palm Isles Drive in Boynton Beach.

  • Traffic Impacts: Eastbound and westbound turn lanes will be closed intermittently for signal work, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday, June 15 through Friday, June 19.

S.R. 5/U.S. 1 Resurfacing Project (West Palm Beach)

  • Description: Milling, resurfacing, sidewalk replacement, and school zone enhancements on U.S. 1 from Belvedere Road to south of Okeechobee Boulevard.

  • Cost/Completion: $3.9 million / Early 2027
  • Traffic Impacts: Northbound and southbound U.S. 1 may have intermittent single-lane closures from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday, June 15 through Friday, June 19, for utility drilling and concrete work. Flaggers will manage traffic.

S.R. A1A/South Ocean Boulevard (Lake Avenue to Ibis Way)

  • Description: Resurfacing, lane widening for bike lanes, and signal upgrades in Lake Worth Beach and the Town of Palm Beach.

  • Cost/Completion: $5.9 million / Summer 2026
  • Traffic Impacts: * Traffic Pattern Change: The new pedestrian signal at the Palm Beach Par 3 Golf Course entrance is currently on “yellow flash mode” ahead of full activation. Once live this month, the push-button will stop traffic with a red light.
    • Daily & Nightly Lane Closures: One lane of S.R. A1A may be closed with flagging operations daily (8 a.m. – 6 p.m.) and nightly (8 p.m. – 7 a.m.), Sunday night through Friday, for striping and sod work.
    • Lake Avenue Impact: In alignment with the A1A closures, one lane of Lake Avenue just west of A1A may be closed during the same daily and nightly windows.
    • Pedestrians: Temporary sidewalk detours are active throughout the work zone.

S.R. A1A/South Ocean Boulevard (Emerald Beach Way to Royal Palm Way)

  • Description: A 2.3-mile milling, paving, and decorative traffic signal installation project in the Town of Palm Beach.

  • Cost/Completion: $8.2 million / Late 2026
  • Traffic Impacts:
    • Daily & Nightly Closures: One lane of S.R. A1A/S. County Road may be closed via flagging daily (8 a.m. – 6 p.m.) and nightly (8 p.m. – 6 a.m.), Sunday night through Friday, for concrete, median, and mast arm operations.
    • Drilled Shaft Operations: Ongoing mast arm drilling will impact the southwest corners of Peruvian Avenue and Worth Avenue. Additional sidewalk construction is expected at Royal Palm Way, Fire Station #1, Golfview Road, and Hammon Avenue.

NORTHERN PALM BEACH COUNTY
(RIVIERA BEACH, LAKE PARK, NORTH PALM BEACH, PALM BEACH GARDENS, JUNO BEACH, JUPITER, TEQUESTA)
U.S. 1/S.R. 5 Roadway Improvements Project

  • Description: A 3.042-mile project from 59th Street to Northlake Boulevard including paving, median changes, bike lanes, and shared-use path construction over the Port of Palm Beach bridge.

  • Traffic Impacts:
    • Sidewalk & Turn Closure: The northbound sidewalk from Access Road to W. 11th Street is closed through June 2026. The right-turn access to E. 11th Street is also closed. Cruise terminal traffic must use W. 13th Street.
    • Lane Closures: Intermittent outside or inside lane closures northbound and southbound from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and nightly from 9 p.m. to 7 a.m., Monday, June 15 through Friday, June 19.

S.R. 710/Beeline Highway Reconstruction Project

  • Description: A massive 3.142-mile widening project (4 to 6 lanes) from Northlake Blvd to Blue Heron Blvd, including Turnpike bridge replacement and a Continuous Flow Intersection (CFI).

  • Cost/Completion: $148.2 million / Late 2029
  • Beeline Highway Lane Reductions & Closures (Mon–Fri):

    • Northwest of Northlake Blvd: One southeast-bound outside lane closed 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
    • Blue Heron to Northlake Blvd: One inside lane closed in each direction 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
    • At Northlake Blvd intersection: One inside lane closed in each direction 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
    • At Jog Road intersection: One inside lane closed in each direction 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
    • At Haverhill Road intersection: One inside lane closed in each direction 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
    • Southeast-bound single-lane closure from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
    • CRITICAL: RAMP CLOSURE: The Beeline Hwy northwest ramp to eastbound Northlake Blvd is temporarily closed until Summer 2026. Drivers must turn right at the main traffic light instead.
    • CRITICAL: TURN LANE CLOSURE: The southeast Beeline Hwy left-turn lane to eastbound Blue Heron Blvd is closed 24/7 through September 2026. Detour via southeast Beeline Hwy, north on Military Trail, and east on Blue Heron Blvd.
  • Blue Heron Boulevard Impacts:
    • Westbound traffic to northwest-bound Beeline Hwy is shifted to a newly constructed outside lane through September 2026. Access to southbound N. Haverhill Road is detoured via southbound Military Trail.
    • Eastbound from Beeline Hwy to Military Trail will have one outside lane closed daily, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday.
  • Northlake Boulevard Impacts:
    • Single lane closures in each direction east and west of Beeline Hwy, 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday.
    • Traffic Pattern Shift: Lanes at the Beeline Hwy intersection are shifted, and U-turns are banned in both directions until Winter 2026.
  • Florida’s Turnpike (S.R. 91) Impacts:
    • One lane closed in each direction near the Beeline Hwy overpass Sunday night (9 p.m. – 6 a.m.) and Monday through Thursday nights (10 p.m. – 5 a.m.) through June 2026.

U.S. 1/S.R. 5 Earman River Bridge Replacement Project

  • Description: Replacing the U.S. 1 bridge over the Earman River in North Palm Beach, adding turn lanes and bicycle infrastructure.

    • Daily Closure: Southbound outside lane from Anchorage Drive to Northlake Blvd will close intermittently from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.
    • Bike lanes are closed/end between Northlake Blvd and Anchorage Drive.
  • CRITICAL: MARINE CLOSURE: The Earman River channel is closed to all vessel traffic through Spring 2027. Mariners must detour north to the Lighthouse Bridge via the Intracoastal Waterway.

WESTERN PALM BEACH COUNTY
(WELLINGTON, ROYAL PALM BEACH, SOUTH BAY, BELLE GLADE, PAHOKEE, CANAL POINT)
S.R. 7/U.S. 441 at S.R. 802/Lake Worth Road Resurfacing

  • Description: Resurfacing, adding a dedicated northbound-to-eastbound right-turn lane, and updating signals/guardrails.

S.R. 80/Southern Boulevard and S.R. 7/U.S. 441 Ramp Improvements

  • Description: Widening the C-51 Canal bridge, adding multiple turn lanes on ramps, and reconstructing U-turn paths.

  • Cost/Completion: $8.3 million / Summer 2027
  • Traffic Impacts:
    • Intermittent single lane closures northbound and southbound along U.S. 441 from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday, June 15 through Friday, June 19.
    • CRITICAL: CONTINUOUS RAMP LANE CLOSURE: The northbound right-turn lane at the U.S. 441 on-ramp to eastbound Southern Boulevard is closed continuously for bridge widening.
    • CRITICAL: CONTINUOUS SIDEWALK CLOSURES: The northeast and southeast sidewalks on U.S. 441 and Southern Blvd are closed continuously until Summer 2026. Pedestrian detours are posted.

U.S. 27/S.R. 25 EAA Reservoir Inflow-Outflow Canal Bridges Project

  • Description: Dredging a new canal and constructing new northbound/southbound bridges 27 miles north of the I-75 interchange.

  • Cost/Completion: $20.9 million / Late 2028
  • Traffic Impacts:
    • Intermittent single lane closures northbound and southbound from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
    • Mainline traffic in both directions is shifted to the east side of the roadway through Dec. 31.
    • Speed Limit Reduction: Speed limits within the zone are reduced from 65 mph to 55 mph.

S.R. 700/Conners Highway Embankment Repairs – Slope Protection

  • Description: Erosion repair, shoulder reconstruction, and paving 1.7 miles south of Hatton Highway.

  • CRITICAL: FULL ROAD CLOSURE: S.R. 700/Conners Highway from Hatton Highway to S.R. 80/U.S. 98 is closed completely to all traffic for the duration of the construction.
    • Northbound Detour: Take S.R. 80/U.S. 98, turn right onto Hatton Highway, then turn left back onto S.R. 700/Conners Highway.
    • Southbound Detour: Turn right onto Hatton Highway and left onto S.R. 80/U.S. 98.

MAINTENANCE, UTILITY, PERMIT & ADDITIONAL AGENCY PROJECTS

INTERSTATE 95 MAINTENANCE

NORTHERN PALM BEACH COUNTY MAINTENANCE
PALM BEACH GARDENS

  • PGA Boulevard (S.R. 786): Eastbound and westbound lanes from Beeline Highway to Shady Lakes Drive will have a single-lane closure overnight, 9 p.m. to 4 a.m., Sunday, June 14 through Thursday, June 18, for pavement marking installation. (Contact: Tameaka Channer 561-370-1156)
