ROYAL PALM BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2026 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A Royal Palm Beach shooting that initially appeared to involve three victims has turned deadly, with deputies now saying four people were shot and one of them has died. The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office says deputies were called shortly before 5 p.m. Tuesday to the 4600 block of Coconut Boulevard, where they found multiple people wounded by a suspect who knew all of them.
Investigators say the carnage spread well beyond the original scene. One male victim was found shot inside a residence on Coconut Boulevard. Two more victims, a man and a woman, tried to escape in a vehicle but crashed a short distance away. A fourth victim, a woman, ran on foot along Coconut Boulevard and was helped by a nearby resident before deputies and paramedics arrived.
All four were rushed to a local hospital according to a stament issued to BocaNewsNow.com. PBSO says the male victim found inside the residence has since died from his injuries. A man and a woman remain in serious condition, while the fourth victim, a woman, is listed as stable. Detectives with PBSO’s Violent Crimes Division took over the investigation from patrol deputies who first responded to the scene.
The suspect, identified by PBSO as Thomas Faferko-Schmedes, was taken into custody at the scene and booked into the Palm Beach County Jail. He faces one count of first-degree murder and three counts of attempted first-degree murder. Deputies say there is no ongoing threat to the public, and the investigation remains active.
