BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2026 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A West Boca Raton dentist is facing multiple felony charges after deputies say he held his wife captive for more than 24 hours, tased her, tied her up, and fired a revolver near her head during a drug- and alcohol-fueled rage.

The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office arrested 63-year-old Sergey Korol earlier this week on charges including false imprisonment, aggravated battery by strangulation, aggravated assault with a firearm, domestic battery, and discharging a missile into an occupied dwelling. According to the arrest report reviewed by BocaNewsNow.com, and just released following the event which led to a mental health hold, deputies were called to the area after the couple’s teenage daughter received a frantic text from her mother instructing her to get her younger sister and grandmother out of the house immediately.

The teen told deputies her mother said Korol had her trapped in a bedroom and was threatening to kill her. The daughter got the rest of the family out safely, then worked with law enforcement to coordinate getting Korol out of the bedroom. Once he left, the wife ran out of the house and was taken to safety by deputies, who then arrested Korol. The wife later gave a sworn statement at West Boca Medical Center describing how the ordeal began the previous evening over after-dinner drinks in the couple’s courtyard.

Korol later allegedly pulled a taser from a drawer and shocked his wife at least five times in the chest while accusing her of infidelity. She told deputies she fought him off and made it back to the courtyard, where he allegedly slammed her to the ground, punched her, and choked her before dragging her back inside. Korol then allegedly bound her hands, ankles, and neck with rope and a strap, tied her to a chair, and later to the bed, all while threatening to kill her, deputies say. At one point, investigators say, he pressed a revolver to her forehead and then her eye, threatened to kill her in front of her children, and fired the gun once near her head before his demeanor suddenly shifted.

Deputies say the ordeal stretched on for nearly 24 hours, marked by cycles of violence followed by periods of exhaustion, drinking, and drug use, before the couple eventually went to sleep with an alarm set. When they woke, the wife was able to secretly reach her daughter and alert authorities.

Responding deputies documented bruising on her chin and head, chipped teeth, and rope-burn type abrasions on her wrists, knees, and ankles consistent with her account. A taser and revolver were recovered as evidence. Korol, who deputies wrote has a prior history of domestic violence, was booked into the Palm Beach County Jail.
