(BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2026 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — There’s actually some good news this week when it comes to our weekly traffic report: there will be NO road construction over the holiday weekend, running July 3 through July 5th. Emergencies may still require closures or result in delays, but there is no work scheduled over the busy holiday weekend. With thanks to FDOT and Palm Beach County, here’s a look at what to expect before the holiday weekend kicks in:
I-95 at Boynton Beach Boulevard Interchange ($64 million / Early 2029)
This 2.354-mile project widens the I-95/Boynton Beach Boulevard interchange, including bridge widening, new turn lanes, bike lanes, sidewalks, LED lighting, and new traffic signals. No lane closures Friday, July 3 through Sunday, July 5; work resumes Monday, July 6.
- I-95 southbound outside deceleration lane approaching the Boynton Beach Boulevard exit is closed through late 2026 for widening. One deceleration lane remains open; the exit ramp itself keeps its regular two-lane configuration with three turn lanes onto Boynton Beach Boulevard.
- One I-95 lane may close in each direction starting at 8 p.m., with up to three lanes closed 10 p.m. to 6 a.m., Sunday night June 28 through Thursday, July 2, and Monday, July 6 through Friday, July 10, for bridge construction and ramp widening. A fourth lane may close overnight as needed.
- I-95 southbound entrance ramp from Boynton Beach Boulevard has barrier wall on both sides through late 2026; traffic is slightly shifted.
- I-95 entrance and exit ramps at Boynton Beach Boulevard may have one lane closed nightly, 9 p.m. to 6 a.m., Sunday night June 28 through Thursday, July 2, and Monday, July 6 through Friday, July 10.
- Full ramp closures possible (only one ramp at a time), 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. on the same nights: I-95 northbound exit to Boynton Beach Blvd. (detour via Woolbright Rd. to U.S. 1 to Boynton Beach Blvd.); I-95 southbound exit to Boynton Beach Blvd. (detour via Gateway Blvd. to U.S. 1 south to Boynton Beach Blvd.); I-95 northbound entrance from Boynton Beach Blvd. (detour via Boynton Beach Blvd. east to U.S. 1 or west to Congress Ave., then north to Gateway Blvd.); I-95 southbound entrance from Boynton Beach Blvd. (detour via Boynton Beach Blvd. east to U.S. 1 or west to Congress Ave., then south to Woolbright Rd.).
- Eastbound Boynton Beach Boulevard from just west of NW 8th Street to east of W. Industrial Avenue has a long-term lane reduction (three lanes down to two) with barrier wall, expected through late 2026. The NW 8th Street northbound outside turn lane at Boynton Beach Blvd. is also closed.
- Boynton Beach Boulevard (Old Boynton Rd. to NW 3rd Ave.) may have one lane closed each direction, 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. nightly — permitted only Friday night, June 26, and Saturday night, June 27, this stretch; no closures July 3–5.
- Boynton Beach Boulevard westbound turn lane to the I-95 southbound entrance ramp may close 9 p.m. to 6 a.m., Sunday night June 28 through Thursday, July 2, and Monday, July 6 through Friday, July 10. Detour via W. Industrial Ave. to U-turn back east.
- NW 7th Street at Boynton Beach Boulevard may close as needed through summer 2026 for drainage work; detour via NW 1st Ave. and NW 8th St.
U.S. 1/North Dixie Highway & I-95 Lighting Project, Lake Worth Beach ($2.5 million / Summer 2027)
New LED lighting along U.S. 1/North Dixie Highway and I-95 between 12th Avenue South and 10th Avenue North begins July 8, 2026.
- One outside lane on northbound U.S. 1/North Dixie Highway (north of Lucerne Ave. to West Palm Beach Canal) closes 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., Tuesday, July 7 through Thursday, July 9, for directional drilling.
- I-95 in this corridor: all lanes open.
I-95 Ramps Safety Improvement Project ($1.2 million)
This project on ramps connecting I-95 to Okeechobee Boulevard, PGA Boulevard and Indiantown Road was finally accepted by FDOT on Tuesday, June 16, 2026. No active traffic impacts.
Southern Palm Beach County (Boca Raton, Highland Beach, Delray Beach)
S.R. 806/Atlantic Avenue Reconstruction ($26 million / Summer 2028)
This 2.76-mile widening project on Atlantic Avenue and U.S. 441/S.R. 7 spans Delray Beach and Boynton Beach. No lane closures Friday, July 3 through Sunday, July 5.

- U.S. 441/S.R. 7: One northbound lane closed (Rio Grande Ave. to south of Atlantic Ave.) 7 a.m.–5 p.m. weekdays for grading, and 8:30 p.m.–6 a.m. Sunday–Thursday for striping.

- One eastbound turn lane on Atlantic Avenue (Wawa back entrance to U.S. 441) closed 7 a.m.–5 p.m. weekdays for signalization.
- The northbound sidewalk between Atlantic Avenue and Saturnia Isles Boulevard is closed; pedestrians detoured to the southbound sidewalk. Motorists exiting Rio Grande are directed south.
- Atlantic Avenue: One eastbound lane closed (Lyons Rd. to the Turnpike) 8:30 p.m.–6 a.m. Sunday–Thursday for striping.
- Atlantic Avenue: One westbound lane closed (Lyons Rd. to the Turnpike) 8:30 p.m.–6 a.m. Sunday–Thursday for striping.
- Atlantic Avenue: One lane each direction closed (U.S. 441 to Lyons Rd.) 8:30 p.m.–6 a.m. Sunday–Friday for paving.
- Smith Sundy Road: One lane each direction closed (Storage Zone Gate to Atlantic Ave.) 8:30 p.m.–6 a.m. Sunday–Thursday for paving; flaggers on site.
Atlantic Avenue/Homewood Boulevard & Okeechobee Boulevard/Haverhill Road Intersections ($3.2 million / Late 2026)
- Atlantic Avenue and Homewood Boulevard intersection: all lanes open.
- Okeechobee Boulevard and Haverhill Road intersection: one eastbound and westbound lane closed intermittently, 7 a.m.–5 p.m., Monday, June 29 through Wednesday, July 1, and Tuesday, July 7 through Friday, July 10, for sodding, concrete, and signalization. Flaggers will direct traffic.
- One eastbound lane on Okeechobee Boulevard (east and west of Haverhill Rd.) closed 8 p.m.–5 a.m., Monday, June 29 through Wednesday, July 1, for concrete pole removal.
Central Palm Beach County (Boynton Beach, Lake Worth Beach, Royal Palm Beach, West Palm Beach, Palm Beach)
Boynton Beach Boulevard Resurfacing ($2.7 million / Fall 2026)
From east of Orchid Grove Trail to Palm Isles Drive. All lanes currently open.
U.S. 1 Resurfacing, West Palm Beach ($3.9 million / Early 2027)
From Belvedere Road to south of Okeechobee Boulevard.
- Northbound and southbound U.S. 1 may have one lane closed intermittently (Belvedere Rd. to Okeechobee Blvd.), 9 a.m.–3 p.m., Monday, June 29 through Thursday, July 2, and Monday, July 6 through Friday, July 10, for concrete work.
S.R. A1A/South Ocean Boulevard, Lake Avenue to Ibis Way ($5.9 million / Summer 2026)
No lane closures Friday, July 3 through Sunday, July 5; work resumes Monday, July 6.
- New pedestrian signal at the Palm Beach Par 3 Golf Course crossing is now fully operational (flashes yellow, then red).
- One lane of S.R. A1A may close for flagging, daily 8 a.m.–6 p.m. and nightly 8 p.m.–7 a.m., Sunday night June 28 through Thursday, July 2, and Monday, July 6 through Friday, July 10, for sod, striping and inspections.
- One lane of Lake Avenue (just west of S.R. A1A) may close in each direction during the same windows, for the same work.
- A temporary pedestrian detour route is in effect throughout the work zone.
S.R. A1A/South Ocean Boulevard, Emerald Beach Way to Royal Palm Way, Town of Palm Beach ($8.2 million / Late 2026)
No lane closures Friday, July 3 through Sunday, July 5; work resumes Monday, July 6.
- One lane of S.R. A1A/S. County Road may close for flagging, daily 8 a.m.–6 p.m. and nightly 8 p.m.–6 a.m., Sunday night June 28 through Thursday, July 2, and Monday, July 6 through Friday, July 10, for paving, concrete work, median construction and mast arm installation.
- Starting Monday, July 6, paving is expected each direction from Hammon Ave./Golfview Rd. to Royal Palm Way, with sidewalk sections temporarily closed and pedestrian detours.
- Drilled shaft installation for new traffic signal mast arms is ongoing at the southwest corners of Peruvian Avenue and Worth Avenue.
- Construction, sidewalk replacement and restoration also expected at: northwest/southwest corners of Royal Palm Way, southeast corner of Fire Station #1, northeast corner of Peruvian Avenue, northwest corner of Golfview Road, and southeast corner of Hammon Avenue.
- Advance notice: Northbound S.R. A1A/S. County Road lane closures and a detour at Peruvian Avenue are expected mid-to-late July 2026 for drainage installation between Peruvian and Chilean Avenues. Northbound traffic will detour east on Peruvian Ave., north on South Ocean Blvd., and west on Chilean Ave. Start date to be confirmed.
Northern Palm Beach County (Riviera Beach, Lake Park, North Palm Beach, Palm Beach Gardens, Juno Beach, Jupiter, Tequesta)
U.S. 1 Roadway Improvements, Riviera Beach to North Palm Beach ($13.4 million / Late 2027)
From 59th Street to Northlake Boulevard.
- Sidewalk along northbound U.S. 1 (Access Rd. to W. 11th St.) closed through July 2026; right-turn access to E. 11th St. also closed. Cruise terminal traffic should continue straight to W. 13th St.
- Northbound and southbound U.S. 1 (59th St. to Northlake Blvd.) will have one outside or inside lane closed 9 a.m.–4 p.m. and again 9 p.m.–7 a.m., Monday, June 29 through Thursday, July 2, and Monday, July 6 through Friday, July 10.
S.R. 710/Beeline Highway Reconstruction ($148.2 million / Late 2029)
Major widening project from Northlake Boulevard to Blue Heron Boulevard, spanning Palm Beach Gardens, Riviera Beach and West Palm Beach. No lane closures Friday, July 3 through Sunday, July 5. Signal operations may be impacted throughout the corridor.
- S.R. 710 southeast-bound, northwest of Northlake Blvd.: one outside lane closed 7 a.m.–5 p.m. weekdays.
- S.R. 710 (Military Trail to Blue Heron Blvd.): reduced to one inside lane through September 2026.
- S.R. 710 (Blue Heron Blvd. to Northlake Blvd.): one inside lane closed each direction daily, 7 a.m.–6 p.m. weekdays.
- S.R. 710 and Northlake Boulevard: one inside lane closed each direction daily, 10 a.m.–5 p.m. weekdays.
- S.R. 710 and Jog Road: one inside lane closed each direction daily, 10 a.m.–6 p.m. weekdays.
- S.R. 710 and Haverhill Road: one inside lane closed each direction daily, 7 a.m.–6 p.m. weekdays.
- S.R. 710 (Military Trail to Blue Heron Blvd.): one lane closed each direction daily, 7 a.m.–6 p.m. weekdays.
- S.R. 710 lane widths are reduced, with westbound traffic shifted to the median from east of the Turnpike to Blue Heron Boulevard.
- S.R. 710: one southeast-bound lane closed daily, 9 a.m.–6 p.m. weekdays.
- The S.R. 710 northwest ramp to eastbound Northlake Boulevard is temporarily closed, expected to reopen Summer 2026; motorists continue on S.R. 710 and turn right at the light.
- The southeast S.R. 710 left-turn lane to eastbound Blue Heron Boulevard is closed around-the-clock through September 2026. Detour: southeast on S.R. 710, north on Military Trail, east on Blue Heron Blvd. Emergency/first-responder access maintained; all Blue Heron Blvd. businesses remain accessible.
- Blue Heron Boulevard westbound to northwest-bound S.R. 710 shifted to the new outside lane (S.R. 710 to south of Haverhill Rd.) through September 2026.
- Westbound Blue Heron Blvd. traffic wanting southbound Haverhill Road is directed via southbound Military Trail, northwest-bound S.R. 710, then southbound Haverhill Rd.
- Blue Heron Boulevard eastbound (S.R. 710 to Military Trail): one outside lane closed daily, 7 a.m.–6 p.m. weekdays.
- Northlake Boulevard, west of S.R. 710: one lane closed each direction as needed, 10:30 a.m.–6 p.m. weekdays.
- Northlake Boulevard, east of S.R. 710: one lane closed each direction as needed, 10:30 a.m.–6 p.m. weekdays.
- S.R. 710 northwest-bound access to eastbound Northlake Boulevard is temporarily shifted; expected to reopen Summer 2026. Motorists turn right at the intersection to access eastbound Northlake Blvd.
- Northlake Boulevard lanes at the S.R. 710 intersection are shifted, with U-turns unavailable in both directions through Winter 2026.
- Florida’s Turnpike near the S.R. 710 overpass: one lane closed each direction Sunday nights 9 p.m.–6 a.m. and Monday–Thursday nights 10 p.m.–5 a.m. through July 2026.
- Florida’s Turnpike southbound lanes near the S.R. 710 overpass are temporarily shifted through Fall 2026.
U.S. 1 Earman River Bridge Replacement, North Palm Beach ($13.7 million / Summer 2027)
From Northlake Boulevard to north of Anchorage Drive. No lane closures Friday, July 3 through Sunday, July 5.
- Southbound U.S. 1 Earman River Bridge traffic (south of Anchorage Dr. to Northlake Blvd.) has been shifted onto the new northbound bridge, with two travel lanes open each direction, through Spring 2027. Pedestrians detoured to the east-side sidewalk. All west-side businesses/residences remain accessible.
- U.S. 1 southbound outside lane (Anchorage Dr. to Northlake Blvd.) intermittently closed daily, 9:30 a.m.–5 p.m.
- Signal operations may be temporarily adjusted during construction.
- Southbound and northbound bike lanes end between Northlake Boulevard and Anchorage Drive.
- Marine impact: The Earman River channel is closed through Spring 2027; mariners should use an alternate route to the Intracoastal Waterway north to the Lighthouse Bridge.
Western Palm Beach County (Wellington, Royal Palm Beach, South Bay, Belle Glade, Pahokee, Canal Point)
U.S. 441 Resurfacing at Lake Worth Road ($3.4 million / Early 2027)
- Northbound U.S. 441: outside right lane and adjacent lane closed intermittently within project limits, 9 a.m.–3:30 p.m., Monday, June 29 through Thursday, July 2, and Monday, July 6 through Friday, July 10, for earthwork and equipment mobilization.
- The shopping plaza entrance/exit on northbound U.S. 441, south of Lake Worth Road, will be closed continuously Monday, July 6 through Friday, July 10. Use the alternate plaza entrance on Lake Worth Road.
S.R. 80/Southern Boulevard & U.S. 441 Ramp Improvements ($8.3 million / Summer 2027)
- Northbound and southbound U.S. 441: one lane closed intermittently, 7 a.m.–5 p.m., Monday, June 29 through Thursday, July 2, and Monday, July 6 through Friday, July 10, for roadway work.
- The northbound right-turn lane at the U.S. 441 on-ramp to eastbound S.R. 80 is closed continuously for bridge widening.
- The northeast and southeast sidewalks at U.S. 441 and S.R. 80 are closed continuously until Summer 2026 for bridge widening; pedestrian detours in place.
U.S. 27 EAA Reservoir Inflow-Outflow Canal Bridges ($20.9 million / Late 2028)
27 miles north of the U.S. 27/I-75 interchange.
- Intermittent northbound and southbound single-lane closures may be needed, Monday, June 29 through Thursday, July 2, and Monday, July 6 through Friday, July 10, 7 a.m.–5 p.m., for maintenance and deliveries.
- Mainline traffic is shifted east through Dec. 31 to protect bridge and canal construction on the west side.
- Speed limit reduced from 65 mph to 55 mph within project limits.
S.R. 700/Conners Highway Embankment Repairs ($1.3 million / Late 2026)
- S.R. 700/Conners Highway (Hatton Highway to S.R. 80/U.S. 98) is closed throughout construction, effective June 1.
- Northbound traffic detoured onto S.R. 80/U.S. 98, right onto Hatton Highway, left onto S.R. 700.
- Southbound traffic detoured right onto Hatton Highway, then left onto S.R. 80/U.S. 98.

- Westbound Southern Boulevard (I-95 to Gem Lake Drive), West Palm Beach: two lanes closed 10 p.m.–5 a.m., Wednesday, July 8, for sign overlay.
- Westbound Southern Boulevard on-ramp to Australian Avenue: one lane closed 10 p.m.–5 a.m., Wednesday, July 8, for sign overlay.
- Eastbound Australian Avenue between the Southern Boulevard overpass and I-95: two lanes closed 10 p.m.–5 a.m., Thursday, July 9, for sign overlay.

Florida’s Turnpike Widening (North of Southern Boulevard to North of Okeechobee Boulevard)
- Eastbound and westbound Okeechobee Boulevard: single-lane closures between Vista Parkway and West Drive, 8:30 p.m.–6:30 a.m., Sunday, June 28 through Thursday, July 2 (not closed in both directions simultaneously).
- Northbound and southbound Florida’s Turnpike between Jog Road and north of Okeechobee Boulevard: single-lane closures, 8 p.m.–6 a.m., Sunday, June 28 through Thursday, July 2.
- Northbound and southbound Jog Road between north of Belvedere Road and Meathe Drive: single-lane closures, 8 p.m.–6 a.m., Sunday, June 28 through Thursday, July 2, and 7 a.m.–5 p.m., Monday, June 29 through Thursday, July 2.
- Effective Wednesday, July 1 at 8 p.m., the left-turn lane from northbound Jog Road to southbound Florida’s Turnpike closes through late 2027 for bridge widening. Jog Road over the Turnpike narrows from three lanes to two in each direction, shifted east. Northbound Jog Road traffic wanting southbound Turnpike access is directed west on Belvedere Road, then south on Pike Road. Belvedere Road traffic wanting southbound Turnpike access is directed south on Pike Road. Schedule may change due to weather.
