FHP confirms that a tow truck driver was critically injured but makes no mention of a second injury. However, sources confirm to BocaNewsNow.com that a second person was critically injured and transported to Delray Medical Center. FHP also say this was a three car crash, however, we have learned there were more than three cars involved. We are awaiting clarification from FHP.
BOYNTON BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2026 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — One man lost two legs early Saturday in a crash on I-95 near Woolbright Road. While Florida Highway Patrol has not provided a requested summary of the crash as of mid-day Monday, BocaNewsNow.com has learned that multiple people were rushed to Delray Medical Center — including one man whose legs were both severed at the scene.
Sources tell BocaNewsNow.com that the crash involved at least five vehicles and possibly as many as eight. The crash was initially a generic crash on I-95 — the sort of minor incident that happens seemingly every day. But as that crash was being cleared around 12:30 a.m., someone plowed into a tow truck. That truck, according to sources, slammed into a tow-truck operator, severing his legs on the side of I-95. The man, and his legs, were rushed to Delray Medical. His condition is unclear Monday afternoon.
Another person was taken to Delray Medical Center with critical injuries. That person’s condition is also unclear Monday.
There is some confusion as to whether the striking vehicle remained on the scene. It does not appear that anyone was arrested or charged with anything of significance regarding the crash. We note, however, that traffic homicide investigations in Florida often take a year. Critical crashes, including those where limbs are lost, are often investigated as a “traffic homicide.”
