UPDATE: As of 9:28 a.m. Wednesday, Boca Raton Police investigators are treating this as a likely suicide. Check back for updates.
UPDATE: Police cleared the scene around 2 a.m. We are awaiting official word Wednesday from police as to what happened.
BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2026 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — The Boca Raton Police Department is on the scene of a shooting in the area of Federal Highway and Spanish River Boulevard. One person is dead. It is unclear if the wound was self-inflicted.
The area of the shooting scene is closed off and a heavy police presence remains in the area. There has been no request, however, to share information regarding a suspect. It is not immediately clear if someone is in custody. BocaNewsNow.com has learned that someone was arrested in the area near the scene of the shooting, but we do NOT have confirmation that the arrest is related to the incident.
