BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2026 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — Never underestimate the maturity of South Florida residents. Case in point: a Deerfield Beach man was arrested in Boca Raton Sunday night after police say he and another driver were street racing on Federal Highway before he led officers on an evasive chase through city streets in a grey Ferrari. Michael Francis Bogdan, 48, was taken into custody on charges of racing on highways and fleeing or attempting to elude a law enforcement officer.
According to a Boca Raton police report obtained by BocaNewsNow.com, an officer conducting stationary traffic enforcement near 600 N. Federal Highway spotted two vehicles — a grey two-door and a black four-door — accelerating side by side at high speed in a 35-mph zone around 8:20 p.m. The officer clocked the grey vehicle, later identified as a Ferrari, traveling at 71 mph. After the vehicles stopped at a red light near Glades Road and N. Dixie Highway, both cars again accelerated rapidly and drove door-to-door before the officer activated lights and sirens to initiate a stop.
Rather than pulling over, the grey Ferrari made several lane changes across N. Federal Highway, ran a solid red arrow while turning onto NW 4th Avenue, and then attempted a U-turn back toward Glades Road. The vehicle eventually pulled halfway into a driveway and partially onto a sidewalk before coming to rest. Bogdan, who required two pairs of handcuffs due to his size, was identified by his Florida driver’s license and placed under arrest. The black vehicle did not stop and fled the scene.
Bogdan, who lists an address on SE 18th Avenue in Deerfield Beach, was booked into the Palm Beach County Jail and later released on $6,000 bond. He was arrested — we’re not making this up — by Officer Super. It’s unclear if a cape was used.
