The app in all honesty does very little that visiting on the web doesn’t with two exceptions: you can toggle on instant news alerts so you can a push notification when there’s a big a story. Our readers ask for this every day, so we are delivering. Just say ‘allow alerts’ (or similar) when prompted after downloading and opening the app. There is also a “news tips” button. This will connect directly to your texting app so you can instantly send us a message with news tips.
We are working on reducing ad load in the app. It’s not going to be immediate but stay tuned. We hear you. We will also be adding significant functionality that will help you in your day to day life in South Florida.
And note that the few “bad reviews” from two years ago are seemingly spam. We’re never prompted anyone for a subscription because we are completely free. The reviews come from locations in the world that are unlikely to be places where people would download this app. Again, just follow this link to download on your iPhone or iPad.
