BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2026 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A child in Boca Raton was critically injured late Saturday night while he was apparently playing with — or too close to — fireworks.
The child, who we are not identifying and withholding most identifying information, was taken to Boca Raton Regional Hospital with burns to his body and face late last night. Medical teams at Boca Raton Regional decided he needed critical care and had him rushed to Delray Medical Center which is the area’s trauma center.
His condition Sunday morning was unclear.
Emergency medical services professionals and police routinely warn in the days before holidays that involve fireworks that they’re not toys, that they are dangerous, and that parents or guardians should never let children anywhere near fireworks as they can — and do — cause critical injuries.
