FHP Patrol Car Apparently Involved In Crash On Florida Turnpike, Lanes Closed

UPDATE: 5:17 p.m. — All lanes are now OPEN. We are awaiting an update from FHP with the specifics of what happened.

UPDATE 4:37 p.m. — Southbound is still closed in the area of the Beeline (mile marker 103), northbound is now moving. Check back for updates.

PALM BEACH COUNTY, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2026 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A Florida Highway Patrol car is apparently involved in a fiery crash on the Florida Turnpike. It’s unclear if the patrol car caught fire or another vehicle.

The Florida Turnpike is CLOSED southbound in the area of the Beeline Expressway. Northbound traffic seems to be moving but exceptionally slowly.

The crash was first reported around 2:20 p.m. At least 15 fire rescue units are on the scene. Check back for updates.
