More Than 120 Traffic Stops…

BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2026 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — Palm Beach County deputies pulled over 121 drivers and arrested a dozen suspected drunk drivers during a three-day DUI crackdown over the Independence Day weekend. The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office DUI Unit tells BocaNewsNow.com that it ran saturation patrols from July 3 through July 5, flooding roadways across the county with high-visibility enforcement aimed at catching impaired drivers before they could cause a crash. We pre-reported on the saturation patrol plan.
The numbers add up. Along with the 12 DUI arrests, the operation produced two felony arrests and nine misdemeanor arrests. Deputies also handed out 26 criminal citations, 59 traffic citations, and 47 traffic warnings, according to PBSO.
It wasn’t just cars deputies were watching. The DUI Unit also teamed up with the PBSO Marine Unit for a Fourth of July boating enforcement push on the water. That joint effort led to one BUI arrest, sheriff’s officials said.
PBSO says the saturation patrols are part of an ongoing effort to keep impaired drivers and boaters off the road and water, particularly during holiday weekends when traffic and celebrations tend to spike.
