BROWARD COUNTY, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2026 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A gas leak just south of the Palm Beach County/Broward County line is snarling traffic Tuesday morning.
While the Turnpike is not officially closed, it appears traffic is barely moving by the scene as of 11:20 a.m. which is in the northbound lanes of the Florida Turnpike just south of the Palm Beach County border. Multiple fire fighting units from Palm Beach County and Broward County are on the scene.
We are unaware of any evacuations in the area. Construction was taking place at the scene just before the gas line broke. It’s unclear what hit it or the size of the leak.

Expect major delays in the area. If you’re heading northbound to Boca Raton or points north, you may want to get off of the Turnpike around Sample Road, use your choice of north-south roads, and then rejoin the Turnpike at Glades Road.
