JetBlue is dramatically increasing its routes from South Florida following Spirit’s collapse.

BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2026 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — JetBlue rolled out its biggest Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport schedule ever on Thursday, launching eight new nonstop routes in a single day and setting the stage for six more in the coming months. The airline tells BocaNewsNow.com that it will be flying more than 125 daily departures to over 55 nonstop destinations from FLL by the end of the day, with roughly 150 daily flights expected by winter. JetBlue CEO Joanna Geraghty called Fort Lauderdale “part of JetBlue’s DNA” and said the airline is only getting started here.

The new nonstop cities launching Thursday include Baltimore, Charlotte, Nashville, Detroit, Houston, Chicago and Ponce, Puerto Rico, along with Cleveland, which actually started a day earlier. Still to come: Indianapolis and Columbus, Ohio in November, San Diego (with JetBlue’s premium Mint service) also in November, and international routes to Cali and Barranquilla, Colombia this fall, plus Caracas, Venezuela on a date still to be confirmed. Here’s the full rundown of what’s new at FLL:

  • Baltimore (BWI) — 3x daily, started July 9
  • Charlotte (CLT) — 3x daily, started July 9
  • Cleveland (CLE) — 1x daily, started July 8
  • Nashville (BNA) — 3x daily, started July 9
  • Detroit (DTW) — 2x daily, started July 9
  • Houston (IAH) — 3x daily, started July 9
  • Chicago O’Hare (ORD) — 2x daily, started July 9
  • Ponce, Puerto Rico (PSE) — 1x daily, started July 9
  • Barranquilla, Colombia (BAQ) — 1x daily, starts Oct. 1
  • Cali, Colombia (CLO) — 1x daily, starts Oct. 15
  • Columbus, Ohio (CMH) — 1x daily, starts Nov. 2
  • Indianapolis (IND) — 1x daily, starts Nov. 2
  • San Diego (SAN) — 1x daily, starts Nov. 19
  • Caracas, Venezuela (CCS) — 1x daily, date to be confirmed

JetBlue says daily departures out of FLL are up more than 75% compared to this time last year, and the airline has added service to 24 new nonstop destinations since December alone. Broward County Mayor Mark Bogen and FLL CEO/Director of Aviation Mark E. Gale both praised the expansion, with Gale calling it a deepening of the airport’s “partnership” with the carrier. The West Coast growth is notable too — JetBlue’s new Mint service to San Diego will be the only lie-flat product on that route, and Mint flights to Los Angeles and San Francisco are also set to launch this winter.

Beyond the new flights, JetBlue is also putting money into the South Florida community through the JetBlue Foundation, which handed out $130,000 in grants this year to groups including the Boys & Girls Clubs of Broward County, Millennium 6-12 Collegiate Academy, the Adrienne Arsht Center Trust and the Brevard Schools Foundation. JetBlue CFO and Foundation president Ursula Hurley said the goal is to support youth development and aviation career pathways alongside the airline’s growth at FLL.
