UPDATE AT 8:38 p.m. — Delray Beach Fire issued this statement to BocaNewsNow.com: “This afternoon, Delray Beach Fire Rescue responded to a structure fire in the 3900 block of Lone Pine Road. Firefighters arrived to find the home fully engulfed in flames, and the incident quickly escalated to a third-alarm fire.
With assistance from Palm Beach County Fire Rescue, crews battled the blaze for several hours. No one was home at the time. DBFR fire marshals and the Florida State Fire Marshal’s Office are investigating the cause.”

Delray Beach Fire Rescue was called to a combined brush fire and house fire around 1:50 this afternoon. Firefighters remain on the scene as of 5 p.m.
There are no reports of injuries but fighting a fire in the extreme heat is exceptionally challenging.
