DELRAY BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2026 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A Delray Beach man is facing battery and child abuse charges after allegedly striking a woman in front of children. The incident — as described by police in a report obtained by BocaNewsNow.com — took place in the G.L. Homes-built “Dakota” Community near 441 and Atlantic.

Joshua Bade of Cherry Creek Lane is charged with “Battery” and “Cruelty Towards Child — Abuse Child Without Great Bodily Harm.” Bade allegedly struck the woman, then lay down behind her car. Deputies responding to the scene said that Bade’s actions have a reasonable chance of causing “physical or mental injury to the two children” who witnessed the incident.

Bade was booked into the Palm Beach County Jail around 2 a.m. Friday. He remains held without bond Friday morning pending a first appearance in court.

The extent of injuries to the woman involved were unclear, but there is no indication that she was transported to a hospital for treatment.
