Boca Raton Men Allegedly Battered Boy On E-Bike In Video Exclusively Obtained By BocaNewsNow.

Both have court activity set for July 30th. Schuman’s case is set for disposition. Brooks’ case is set for a status check. Both men have been free on bond since their official arrests in May.
As BocaNewsNow.com reported exclusively in stories the news outlet broke, Schuman was seemingly caught on camera on April 3, throwing a water bottle at a child performing wheelies on an e-bike in Lotus. Schuman then allegedly took the boy’s phone. Ari Brooks, another Lotus resident, is seen on video restraining the child as a crowd of adults arrives to seemingly administer the type of justice that only middle-age-men-and-loud-mouthed-attention-seeking-women can in a Boca Raton community of million dollar homes. The loudest woman heard on the video encouraging the men to do something to the child has apparently been identified but not charged. It remains unclear why the women watching the men did not assist the child. We are told they could be named in a potential civil suit.
Mitchell Schuman is accused of throwing a water bottle at a young child, then taking his cell phone. The official charges: Felony Robbery by Sudden Snatching, Misdemeanor Battery, Petit Theft, and Criminal Mischief. Ari Brooks is accused of physically restraining the child as he attempted to retrieve his phone. He is also accused of taking part in the theft of the phone. Brooks is charged with Robbery By Sudden Snatching, a felony, and Battery, a misdemeanor. Both Schuman and Brooks could face prison time if convicted.
The child allegedly attacked by Schuman and Brooks was accused several days after this incident of causing a problem in the neighboring community of Seven Bridges. In that situation, a security guard intervened and called police — adult men did not throw anything at the boy who is said to be having a challenging time adjusting to a divorce. He uses the e-bike to travel between separate residences.
In the Lotus case, PBSO deputies initially issued a “notice to appear” to Mitchell Schuman but prosecutors upped the charges after viewing video on BocaNewsNow.com. Police and prosecutors then additionally charged Ari Brooks. View videos of the incident here.
