TRAFFIC ALERT: I-95 Overnight Lane Closures Return

Boca Raton, Delray Beach, Boynton Beach, Wellington, Lake Worth Beach: Get Ready For Slow.

I-95 is dropping to as few as one lane a night through Boynton Beach, Florida’s Turnpike is shuffling lanes near Okeechobee Boulevard, and the A1A corridor in Palm Beach remains one long orange-barrel obstacle course. Here’s every FDOT closure on the books for July 24 through July 31:

Interstate 95

I-95 at Boynton Beach Boulevard Interchange ($64 million, early 2029 finish)

This is the big one: a 2.35-mile widening and bridge job at the I-95/Boynton Beach Boulevard interchange that’s going to be part of your life for years. Expect nightly lane drops and rotating ramp closures.

• One I-95 lane in each direction may close starting 8 p.m., growing to three lanes closed 10 p.m.–6 a.m., Sunday night through Friday; a fourth lane may close overnight as needed.
• I-95 northbound outside deceleration lane/shoulder at the Boynton Beach Blvd. exit is closed through late 2026.
• I-95 southbound outside deceleration lane/shoulder at the Boynton Beach Blvd. exit is closed through late 2026.
• Entrance/exit ramps at the interchange have shoulders closed with barrier wall and slightly shifted lanes; additional nightly closures 9 p.m.–6 a.m., Sunday night–Friday.
• Full ramp closures (one at a time only): I-95 NB exit to Boynton Beach Blvd. (detour via Woolbright Rd. to U.S. 1 north); I-95 SB exit to Boynton Beach Blvd. (detour via Gateway Blvd. to U.S. 1 south); I-95 NB entrance from Boynton Beach Blvd. (detour via U.S. 1 or Congress Ave. to Gateway Blvd.); I-95 SB entrance from Boynton Beach Blvd. (detour via U.S. 1 or Congress Ave. to Woolbright Rd.) — all possible 9 p.m.–6 a.m., Sunday night through Friday.
• Boynton Beach Blvd. eastbound has a permanent-feeling lane reduction (three lanes down to two) from NW 8th St. to east of W. Industrial Ave. through late 2026, with the NW 8th St. northbound outside turn lane also closed.
• Boynton Beach Blvd. from Old Boynton Rd. to NW 3rd Ave.: one lane each direction may close 9 p.m.–6 a.m. nightly (single-lane closures each direction permitted only Friday/Saturday nights).
• Boynton Beach Blvd. westbound turn lane to I-95 southbound entrance may close 9 p.m.–6 a.m., Sunday night–Friday; detour via W. Industrial Ave.

S.R. 805/U.S. 1/North Dixie Highway & I-95 Lighting Project (Lake Worth Beach, $2.5 million, summer 2027)

• N. Dixie Highway: one lane closed intermittently between Lucerne Ave. and 2nd Ave. N., 8 p.m.–4 a.m., Sunday July 26–Tuesday July 28; and between 3rd Ave. N. and 4th Ave. N., 8 p.m.–4 a.m., Wednesday–Thursday, July 29–30.
• I-95 in this segment: all lanes open.

Southern Palm Beach County (Boca Raton, Highland Beach, Delray Beach)

S.R. 5/U.S. 1 Lane Repurposing & Resurfacing, Boca Raton ($6.3 million, late 2027)

Camino Real to Mizner Boulevard is getting bike lanes, wider sidewalks and a road diet starting Aug. 20. FDOT is holding a virtual meeting and an in-person open house Thursday, July 30, both at 5–7 p.m., the latter at Boca Raton Public Library, 400 NW 2nd Ave.

• All lanes currently open.

S.R. 806/Atlantic Avenue Reconstruction, Delray Beach/Boynton Beach ($26 million, summer 2028)

• U.S. 441/S.R. 7: one NB lane closed from Rio Grande Ave. to just south of Atlantic Ave., and from just north of Atlantic Ave. to Tivoli Isles Blvd.; one SB lane closed from Tivoli Isles Blvd. to just north of Atlantic Ave., and from just south of Atlantic Ave. to just south of 105th Dr. S. — all 8:30 p.m.–6:30 a.m., Sunday–Friday, for final striping.
• Atlantic Ave. eastbound turn lane from Wawa’s back entrance to U.S. 441 closed 7 a.m.–5 p.m., Monday–Friday, for signalization.
• Northbound sidewalk between Atlantic Ave. and Saturnia Isles Blvd. closed; pedestrians detoured to the southbound side.
• Atlantic Ave. eastbound lane closed from Lyons Rd. to the Turnpike, and westbound lane closed same stretch, 8:30 p.m.–6 a.m., Sunday–Friday, for striping. One lane each direction between U.S. 441 and Lyons Rd. also affected same hours.
• Smith Sundy Rd.: one lane each direction closed between the Storage Zone Gate and Atlantic Ave., 8:30 p.m.–6 a.m., Sunday–Friday; flaggers on site.

S.R. 806/Atlantic Ave. & Homewood Blvd. / S.R. 704/Okeechobee Blvd. & Haverhill Rd. Intersections ($3.2 million, late 2026)

• Both intersections: all lanes currently open.

Central Palm Beach County (Boynton Beach, Lake Worth Beach, Royal Palm Beach, West Palm Beach, Palm Beach)

S.R. 804/Boynton Beach Blvd. Resurfacing ($2.7 million, fall 2026)

• Orchid Grove Trail to Palm Isles Dr.: all lanes open.

S.R. 5/U.S. 1 Resurfacing, West Palm Beach ($3.9 million, early 2027)

• NB/SB U.S. 1 between Belvedere Rd. and Okeechobee Blvd.: one lane closed intermittently 9 a.m.–3 p.m., Monday–Friday, July 27–31, for concrete and electrical work.
• Belvedere Rd. at U.S. 1: one lane each direction closed intermittently, same hours/dates.
• U.S. 1 NB outside lane from Barcelona Rd. to Acacia Rd. closed through summer 2026 for drainage/concrete work.

S.R. A1A/South Ocean Blvd., Lake Ave. to Ibis Way ($5.9 million, summer 2026)

• New pedestrian signal at Palm Beach Par 3 Golf Course entrance is now fully operational — expect a flashing-yellow-to-red pattern when activated.
• One lane may close with flagging, daily 8 a.m.–6 p.m. and nightly 8 p.m.–7 a.m., Sunday night–Friday, for sod, striping and inspections.
• Lake Ave. just west of the A1A intersection: same closure pattern, same hours.
• Temporary pedestrian detour route remains active throughout the work zone.

S.R. A1A/South Ocean Blvd., Emerald Beach Way to Royal Palm Way, Palm Beach ($8.2 million, late 2026)

• One lane may close with flagging, daily 8 a.m.–6 p.m. and nightly 8 p.m.–6 a.m., Sunday night–Friday, for concrete, drainage, median and mast-arm work.
• Drilled shaft installation for new signal mast arms underway from Golfview Rd./Hammon Ave. to Royal Palm Way; expect work at multiple intersection corners.
• Advance notice: Northbound lanes at Peruvian Ave. may close around-the-clock starting in August for drainage work, detouring drivers via Peruvian Ave., South Ocean Blvd. and Chilean Ave.
• Advance notice: Sidewalk replacement from Brazilian Ave. to Royal Palm Way begins in August; exploratory concrete cutting may already be underway.

Northern Palm Beach County (Riviera Beach, Lake Park, North Palm Beach, Palm Beach Gardens, Juno Beach, Jupiter, Tequesta)

U.S. 1/S.R. 5 Roadway Improvements ($13.4 million, late 2027)

• Sidewalk along NB U.S. 1 from Access Rd. to W 11th St. closed through September 2026; right-turn access to E 11th St. also closed. Cruise terminal traffic should continue to W 13th St.
• NB/SB U.S. 1 from 59th St. to Northlake Blvd.: one outside or inside lane closed 9 a.m.–4 p.m. and again 9 p.m.–7 a.m., Monday–Friday, July 27–31.

S.R. 710/Beeline Highway Reconstruction ($148.2 million, late 2029)

This is a multi-year mega-project widening Beeline Highway from four to six lanes between Northlake Boulevard and Blue Heron Boulevard, with a new Turnpike bridge and a Continuous Flow Intersection at Northlake. Lots of moving parts here:

• NW-bound Beeline from Military Trail to the Turnpike overpass has been permanently shifted for this phase, through summer 2027.
• SE-bound Beeline, northwest of Northlake Blvd., and from west of Northlake to just east of the Turnpike overpass: one outside lane closed 7 a.m.–5 p.m., Monday–Friday.
• Beeline from Blue Heron to Northlake: one lane each direction closed daily, 7 a.m.–6 p.m., Monday–Friday.
• Beeline & Northlake Blvd., and Beeline & Jog Rd.: one inside lane each direction closed daily, 10 a.m.–5/6 p.m., Monday–Friday.
• Beeline & Haverhill Rd.: one inside lane each direction closed 7 a.m.–6 p.m., Monday–Friday.
• Beeline from Military Trail to Blue Heron Blvd.: one lane each direction closed daily, 7 a.m.–6 p.m., Monday–Friday.
• Beeline lane widths reduced with westbound traffic shifted to the median from east of the Turnpike to Blue Heron Blvd.
• Beeline SE-bound: one lane closed daily, 9 a.m.–6 p.m., Monday–Friday.
• Beeline NW ramp to eastbound Northlake Blvd. temporarily closed, expected to reopen summer 2026; motorists continue on Beeline and turn right at the light instead.
• SE Beeline left-turn lane to eastbound Blue Heron Blvd. closed around-the-clock through September 2026 — detour via SE Beeline, north on Military Trail, east on Blue Heron.
• Blue Heron Blvd. eastbound from Beeline to Military Trail: one outside lane closed daily, 7 a.m.–6 p.m., Monday–Friday.
• Northlake Blvd. east and west of Beeline: one lane each direction closed as needed, 10:30 a.m.–6 p.m., Monday–Friday. U-turns at the Beeline intersection unavailable through winter 2026.
• Florida’s Turnpike near the Beeline overpass: one lane each direction closed Sunday 9 p.m.–6 a.m. and Monday–Thursday nights 10 p.m.–5 a.m. through July 2026; SB lanes shifted through fall 2026.

U.S. 1/S.R. 5 Earman River Bridge Replacement, North Palm Beach ($13.7 million, summer 2027)

• SB U.S. 1 bridge traffic from south of Anchorage Dr. to Northlake Blvd. shifted onto the new NB bridge (two lanes each direction) through spring 2027; pedestrians detoured to the east-side sidewalk.
• SB U.S. 1 outside lane from Anchorage Dr. to Northlake Blvd. intermittently closed daily, 9:30 a.m.–5 p.m.
• NB/SB bike lanes end at Northlake Blvd. through Anchorage Dr.
• Marine impact: Earman River channel closed through spring 2027; mariners should use the Intracoastal Waterway north to the Lighthouse Bridge.

Western Palm Beach County (Wellington, Royal Palm Beach, South Bay, Belle Glade, Pahokee, Canal Point)

S.R. 7/U.S. 441 R&R at S.R. 802/Lake Worth Rd. ($3.4 million, early 2027)

• NB U.S. 441: outside right lane and adjacent lane closed intermittently, 9 a.m.–3:30 p.m., Monday–Friday, July 27–31, for earthwork and equipment mobilization.
• Shopping plaza entrance/exit on NB U.S. 441 south of Lake Worth Rd. closed continuously through July 31; use the alternate entrance on Lake Worth Rd.

S.R. 80/Southern Blvd. Ramps & S.R. 7/U.S. 441 Ramp Improvements ($8.3 million, summer 2027)

• NB/SB U.S. 441: one lane closed intermittently, Monday–Friday, July 27–31, 7 a.m.–5 p.m.
• NB right-turn lane at the U.S. 441 on-ramp to eastbound Southern Blvd. closed continuously for bridge widening.
• Starting Monday, Aug. 10: eastbound Southern Blvd. off-ramp U-turn lane at U.S. 441 closed until fall 2026; motorists detour via a U-turn at Fairgrounds Rd.
• NE and SE sidewalks at U.S. 441/Southern Blvd. closed continuously until fall 2026; pedestrians/cyclists detour via the signalized intersection at Erica Blvd.

U.S. 27/S.R. 25 EAA Reservoir Inflow-Outflow Canal Bridges ($20.9 million, late 2028)

• Intermittent NB/SB single-lane closures may occur Monday–Friday, July 27–31, 7 a.m.–5 p.m., for maintenance and deliveries.
• NB/SB mainline traffic shifted east through Dec. 31 for bridge and canal construction.
• Speed limit reduced from 65 mph to 55 mph within the project limits.

S.R. 700/Conners Highway Embankment Repairs ($1.3 million, late 2026)

• Conners Highway from Hatton Highway to S.R. 80/U.S. 98 closed throughout construction as of June 1.
• NB traffic detoured onto U.S. 98, right on Hatton Highway, left back onto Conners Highway.
• SB traffic detoured right onto Hatton Highway, then left onto U.S. 98.

Florida’s Turnpike

S.R. 91/Florida’s Turnpike Widening, north of Southern Blvd. to north of Okeechobee Blvd.

• Okeechobee Blvd. (E/W) between Vista Pkwy. and West Dr.: single lane closures 8:30 p.m.–6:30 a.m., Sunday July 26–Thursday July 30 (not both directions at once).
• Turnpike (NB/SB) between Jog Rd. and north of Okeechobee Blvd.: single lane closures 8 p.m.–6 a.m., Sunday–Thursday, July 26–30.
• Turnpike NB between Jog Rd. and Okeechobee Blvd. fully closed 8 p.m.–6 a.m., Sunday–Thursday, July 26–30; detour via Jog Rd. north to Okeechobee Blvd. east.
• Turnpike SB between Jog Rd. and Okeechobee Blvd. fully closed 8 p.m.–6 a.m., Wednesday–Thursday, July 29–30; detour via Okeechobee Blvd. west to Jog Rd. south. (Only one direction closes at a time.)
• N. Jog Rd. left-turn lane to SB Turnpike closed through late 2027 for bridge widening; Jog Rd. over the Turnpike reduced from three lanes to two with an eastward shift. Detours route through Belvedere Rd. and Pike Rd.

Boca Raton

• NB S.R. A1A/S. Ocean Blvd. at the Boca Inlet Bridge closes Wednesday, July 29, 9 a.m.–3 p.m., for speed-reducer oil replacement, with flaggers directing traffic.

Delray Beach

• Atlantic Ave. (E/W) from Sherwood Forest Dr. to Wheatley Rd.: one lane closed 9 p.m. Sunday, July 26 until 4 a.m. Monday, July 27, for pavement marking.
• Atlantic Ave. (E/W) from Military Trail to Kings Point Executive Golf Course: one lane closed 9 p.m.–4 a.m., Monday–Thursday, July 27–30, for pavement marking.

Ocean Ridge

• S.R. A1A/Jimmy Buffett Memorial Highway (NB/SB), from south of Corrine St. to north of Ocean Ave.: one lane may close intermittently with flagging, 8 a.m.–5:30 p.m., Monday–Friday, July 27–31, ahead of August water main work. Single-lane closures on Ocean Ave. at the A1A intersection also possible.

Palm Beach

• Westbound Royal Palm Way from S. County Rd. to Cocoanut Row closes 9 p.m. Friday, Aug. 7 until 5 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 8, for drainage work; drivers detour south on S. County Rd., west on Brazilian Ave., north on Cocoanut Row.
