DEERFIELD BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2026 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — The family of the women killed in the horrific head-on crash in South Bay on Saturday is seeking help from the community. We first reported on the crash as rescuers rushed to save those involved. Sadly, two people were killed — Tiffany Silas and Maliah Silas.

As we first reported based on information provided to BocaNewsNow.com by PBSO: “investigators say the crash happened just after 3:24 p.m. in the 7500 block of U.S. 27. A 2021 Cadillac XTS driven by Tiffany Narcissus Laflet Silas, 37, of Deerfield Beach, was headed southbound when Silas lost control of the car. The Cadillac began spinning clockwise, crossed the median, and entered the northbound lanes — directly into the path of a 2023 Peterbilt tractor-trailer driven by Collis Kabron Faniel, 48, of Port St. Lucie, and a 2017 Nissan Altima driven by Staci Anne Christmas, of Avon Park.
The Peterbilt slammed into the driver’s side of the Cadillac as it faced west across the roadway, spinning the car a full 180 degrees. The Nissan then sideswiped the rear of the Cadillac before all three vehicles came to rest in or near the median. Silas was ejected during the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene by Palm Beach County Fire Rescue. A 14-year-old rear-seat passenger was also pulled from the wreckage by responding deputies; resuscitation efforts failed, and she too was pronounced dead at the scene, deputies said. She is identified as Malia Silas.
A front-seat passenger in the Cadillac, identified as Havolyn Worthy of Clewiston, suffered serious injuries and was airlifted to St. Mary’s Medical Center along with a 13-year-old rear-seat passenger who also sustained serious injuries. Faniel walked away from the Peterbilt uninjured, while a second occupant of his truck, Dena Marie Faniel of Fort Pierce, was also unhurt. Christmas suffered minor injuries, as did her passenger, Dix Berrington Christmas, also of Avon Park; both were taken to Lakeside Medical Center for treatment.
