BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2026 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — Norman Riemer, the husband of ex-Whispering Pines Elementary School Principal Barbara Riemer, is set to spend 29 months in prison. More than a year after being charged with multiple counts of molesting two children under the age of 12, Norman Riemer entered guilty pleas to two counts of lewd or lascivious exhibition. The deal will be finalized in September when he surrenders for lockup.
Riemer was officially sentenced to five years behind bars. But the sentence was mitigated downward to 29 months, with 141 days credited for time served following his arrest in April of 2025. Riemer will spend five years on probation following his release, and must register as a sex offender.

As we exclusively reported, Riemer, now 56, was accused of sexual contact with two elementary-aged children who were in the Lake Worth home he shares with his wife. Norman Riemer allegedly told the girls that they should touch his private part as part of a science experiment. He was fired from the Palm Beach County School District hours after our report on his arrest was published.
Barbara Riemer, the long embattled principal of Whispering Pines Elementary School in West Boca Raton, announced her departure from the school weeks after her husband was charged. Documents obtained by BocaNewsNow.com at the time indicated that Norman Riemer told his wife what he did. As a “mandatory reporter” under Florida law, Barbara Riemer was required to turn in her husband. She allegedly called DFCS and was interviewed by the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office regarding the incident. There is no suggestion that children at Whispering Pines Elementary were ever violated.
