PALM BEACH COUNTY, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2026 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A massive fire tore through a tire recycling lot in the 8400 block of Belvedere Road, east of Sansbury’s Way, Monday night, sending firefighters from two departments scrambling to keep the flames from spreading. Palm Beach County Fire Rescue was dispatched around 10:30 p.m. after a 911 caller reported seeing flames and smoke. Crews arriving on scene found heavy fire conditions engulfing the large lot.
PBCFR tells BocaNewsNow.com that more than 40 firefighters from PBCFR and West Palm Beach Fire Department battled the blaze together, and it took roughly 90 minutes to get the fire under control. That wasn’t the end of it, though — crews stayed on scene through the night and into the morning, dousing hot spots and knocking down flare-ups as piles of tires continued to smolder.
Firefighters credited aggressive tactics, including multiple elevated master streams, with keeping the inferno from jumping to nearby buildings or adjacent lots. Despite the scale of the fire, no injuries were reported among firefighters or civilians.
PBCFR fire investigators remained on scene conducting an origin and cause investigation to determine how the blaze started.
