Roxann Rizzuto Told Police She Had Two Drinks At The Boca Raton Before Arrest.

BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2026 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — The Boca Bridges woman arrested for DUI was allegedly speeding in her “brand new” Rolls Royce and nearly collided with a police officer on Federal Highway. That City of Boca Raton officer, according to a police report, ditched his patrol car into a grassy median to avoid a collision. He later learned that Roxann Rizzuto was coming from The Boca Raton (formerly The Boca Resort) after a dinner and drinks at 1 a.m.

>>On 08/07/2026, at approximately 0100 hours, I was operating my BRPD-marked patrol vehicle in the area of 3800 N Federal Hwy. My patrol vehicle was stationary in the northbound inside lane with its emergency red and blue lights activated after I had been flagged down by a motorist traveling southbound. While speaking with the motorist, I observed through my rearview mirror a vehicle rapidly approaching from behind without appearing to slow down or change lanes. As the vehicle continued approaching, it became apparent that it was on course to collide with my patrol vehicle. I subsequently drove forward and onto the grass median in order to avoid a collision. The vehicle, later determined to be a black 2026 Rolls-Royce Cullinan bearing FL tag FI37T, eventually slowed but passed my patrol vehicle while straddling both the inside and outside northbound lanes.

I followed the vehicle northbound on Federal Hwy and observed it stop in the left-turn lane at the intersection of Federal Hwy and NE Spanish River Blvd while straddling the adjacent lane. As the vehicle made a left turn onto NE Spanish River Blvd, I observed it make a wide turn and travel into the designated bicycle lane. Based on these observations, I initiated a traffic stop by activating my emergency lights and siren.

I made contact with the driver, who was identified via her Florida driver license as Roxann Rizzuto. Rizzuto attributed nearly colliding with my patrol vehicle to the fact that she was driving a new vehicle, stating, “the brakes are loose.” Based on Rizzuto’s driving pattern, I asked her to exit the vehicle. While speaking with Rizzuto outside of the vehicle, I observed her swaying while standing and detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from her person. Rizzuto admitted to consuming two cups of wine with dinner approximately one hour earlier. When asked what roadway she was currently on, which was NE Spanish River Blvd, Rizzuto stated we were on “Linton.”

Based on the above observations, I asked Rizzuto to participate in field sobriety exercises in an attempt to dispel my suspicion that she had been operating a motor vehicle while impaired. Rizzuto agreed.

The FSEs were conducted as follows:

Horizontal Gaze Nystagmus (HGN)
Rizzuto was able to identify the stimulus. Her pupils were equal in size, and both eyes exhibited equal tracking. While conducting the exercise, I observed Rizzuto’s eyes repeatedly jerk as she attempted to follow the stimulus. I observed Lack of Smooth Pursuit, Distinct and Sustained Nystagmus at Maximum Deviation, and Onset of Nystagmus Prior to 45 Degrees. While I provided instructions, Rizzuto continued to sway.

Walk and Turn
The exercise was conducted on a flat, hard surface. Rizzuto elected to perform the exercise without shoes. I ensured Rizzuto understood which line she was to use and provided verbal instructions and a demonstration of the exercise. While I provided instructions, Rizzuto failed to maintain the starting position. During the exercise, Rizzuto stepped off the line and took an incorrect number of steps, ultimately taking more than forty (40) steps without turning or properly completing the exercise. Rizzuto also failed to look at her feet as instructed.

One Leg Stand
The exercise was conducted on a flat, hard surface. Rizzuto elected to perform the exercise without shoes and raised her left leg. During the exercise, Rizzuto swayed, used her arms for balance, lost her balance, and placed her raised foot back onto the ground.

Romberg Alphabet
The exercise was conducted on a flat, hard surface, and Rizzuto performed the exercise without shoes. Rizzuto stated she knew the English alphabet and was able to recite it. During the exercise, Rizzuto incorrectly recited the alphabet and continued to sway.

Based on the totality of the circumstances, including Rizzuto’s driving pattern, physical indicators, statements, and performance during the field sobriety exercises, I determined that she had been operating a motor vehicle while impaired. Rizzuto was subsequently placed under arrest and charged with one count of DUI, in violation of F.S.S. 316.193(1)(a). I placed Rizzuto in handcuffs, checked them for proper fit, and double-locked them. I transported Rizzuto to the BRPD DUI Room, where (the DUI officer) conducted the required 20-minute observation period and operated the Intoxilyzer. Rizzuto was requested to provide a lawful sample of her breath for the purpose of determining its alcohol content, to which she agreed. Reference Intoxilyzer 8000. Rizzuto provided breath alcohol results of .158 and .154.<<

The legal limit in Florida is .08. Rizzuto was booked into the Palm Beach County Jail and later released on $1000 bond. A court date is pending.
