BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2026 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — PALM BEACH COUNTY, FL — Voting Day for the 2026 Primary Election is Tuesday, August 18, and polling places across Palm Beach County will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Voters headed to the polls that day are being encouraged to double-check their assigned Election Day location beforehand, since it may not be the same place they’ve voted in the past.

The Supervisor of Elections office says voters can verify their polling place using the Precinct Finder tool at VotePalmBeach.gov or by calling (561) 656-6200. At the polls, voters must bring a current, valid photo ID that also includes a signature. If the photo ID doesn’t have a signature on it, poll workers will ask for a second form of ID that does. A full list of acceptable identification is posted on VotePalmBeach.gov. Anyone who shows up without an ID can still cast a ballot — it will just be a provisional ballot, which the county’s Canvassing Board reviews later to determine eligibility.

Voters who’d rather beat the Election Day crowds still have a window to do so. Early Voting continues through Sunday, August 16, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at 28 locations spread across the county. Unlike Election Day, Early Voting isn’t tied to a specific precinct — registered voters can cast a ballot at any of the 28 sites. Hours, wait times and the option to make an appointment are all available at VotePalmBeach.gov.

For those who requested a Vote-by-Mail ballot, there are a few ways to get it in. Ballots can be dropped off at one of the county’s four offices or at any Early Voting location while early voting is underway, or the voter can simply choose to vote in person instead. One thing to know: Vote-by-Mail ballots cannot be dropped off at an Election Day polling place. Voters can, however, surrender an unused Vote-by-Mail ballot at their polling place on Election Day and vote using a regular Election Day ballot instead.

Timing matters for mail ballots. To count, they must be returned to the Main Office by 7 p.m. on Election Day, or to a Branch Office or Secure Ballot Intake Station by 5 p.m. that same day. Additional details on voting in Palm Beach County, including a full rundown of polling and Early Voting locations, are available at VotePalmBeach.gov.
