Between Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) mega-projects on I-95, the Turnpike, and State Road 7, and 157 separate county-level lane closures, detours, and utility jobs, there is almost no major corridor in the county untouched by orange barrels this week. Here’s the full rundown, organized by city, so you can find your route and plan around it.

FDOT Mega-Projects: I-95, the Turnpike and State Roads

The Florida Department of Transportation’s District 4 update (issued for the week of Aug. 7–14, with several projects continuing into this week) flags a handful of long-term, high-impact jobs that South Florida drivers should already know about — and a few that are wrapping up or are brand new.

I-95 at Boynton Beach Boulevard: the big one

The $64 million I-95/S.R. 804 Boynton Beach Boulevard Interchange project remains the single biggest headache in the county, running through early 2029. Expect:

• Up to three lanes closed in each direction on I-95, 10 p.m.–6 a.m., Sunday night through Friday
• I-95 northbound and southbound deceleration lanes near Boynton Beach Blvd. closed through late 2026
• Full ramp closures possible overnight (9 p.m.–6 a.m.) at the Boynton Beach Blvd. interchange — only one ramp closes at a time, with detours via Woolbright Road, Gateway Boulevard, U.S. 1 and Congress Avenue
• Eastbound Boynton Beach Boulevard reduced from three lanes to two between NW 8th Street and Industrial Avenue through late 2026
• One lane closed each direction on Boynton Beach Blvd. itself, 9 p.m.–6 a.m., Friday and Saturday nights only

S.R. 806/Atlantic Avenue Reconstruction (Delray Beach/Boynton Beach)

This $26 million, 2.76-mile widening job from west of U.S. 441 to Florida’s Turnpike continues through Summer 2028. This week’s impacts include final striping closures on U.S. 441/S.R. 7 and Atlantic Avenue on weekdays, 7 a.m.–5 p.m., plus a permanent closure of the northbound sidewalk between Atlantic Avenue and Saturnia Isles Boulevard.

S.R. 710/Beeline Highway Reconstruction (Palm Beach Gardens/Riviera Beach/West Palm Beach)

A $148.2 million widening project (4 to 6 lanes) running through late 2029 continues to reshape traffic patterns around Northlake Boulevard and the Beeline Highway. Multiple daily lane closures are in effect on the Beeline itself, Northlake Boulevard, Blue Heron Boulevard, and the Turnpike overpass, generally 6 a.m.–6 p.m. weekdays. The Beeline’s northwest ramp to eastbound Northlake Boulevard remains closed until Winter 2026, and the southeast left-turn lane to eastbound Blue Heron Boulevard is closed around the clock through September.

• U.S. 1/S.R. 5 (Riviera Beach to North Palm Beach): $13.4 million roadway improvement project through late 2027 — sidewalk closures near the cruise terminal and lane closures Aug. 10–14
