BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2026 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — Boca Raton residents are invited to a community conversation about public safety on Wednesday, August 19, as part of the city’s ongoing “Let’s Talk Boca” series with City Manager Mark Sohaney.
The event gives residents a chance to meet some of the city’s top public safety leadership, including new Police Chief Jarad Phelps, Fire Rescue Services Chief John Treanor, and Deputy City Manager and Chief Financial Officer Jim Zervis. Officials plan to walk attendees through the city’s public safety priorities and services, including an overview of the Police Services Complex, before opening the floor for questions.
“Let’s Talk Boca: Conversations with Your City Manager” is billed as an open, informal forum where residents can speak directly with city leadership rather than sit through a traditional government meeting. This installment focuses squarely on public safety, giving neighbors a direct line to the people running the city’s police and fire operations.
The event runs from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Spanish River Library, 1501 NW Spanish River Blvd. in Boca Raton. It is free and open to the public.
