UPDATE #2 at 8:35 a.m. — BocaNewsNow.com has learned that multiple large containers of muriatic acid — not chlorine — fell from a pool service truck and punctured, causing a plume in the area at the time of the crash.
UPDATE #1 at 8:28 a.m. — FDOT now tells us that this is at (or near) Linton Boulevard. Here’s the official statement: “Crash involving hazardous materials in Palm Beach County on I-95 North, at Exit 51: CR-782/Linton Blvd. 3 Right lanes blocked. Last updated at 08:11 AM. Road Ranger Ahead.”
DELRAY BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2026 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — I-95 is a parking lot as of 8:20 Wednesday morning following a crash and hazmat incident in the northbound lanes near Atlantic Avenue.
BocaNewsNow.com has learned that a multi-car crash is the first part of the problem, but the big problem is a truck that leaked a huge amount of chlorine onto the interstate. That’s a hazardous materials problem.

Boca Raton and Delray Beach Fire Rescue rushed to the scene. Now Delray Beach and Palm Beach County are dealing with the problem. While we don’t know anything about injuries at this point, we do know that’s causing massive traffic problems.
FDOT cameras show backups all the way to south of Palmetto Park Road. That’s several miles. Again, this is northbound on I-95.
