BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2026 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — Palm Beach County voters who mailed in a ballot for the 2026 Primary Election and got flagged for a signature problem have just until Thursday to fix it. The Supervisor of Elections Office says anyone whose Vote-by-Mail ballot has a signature issue must submit a cure by 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 20, 2026, or their vote won’t count.
Voters affected by the issue should have already received a notice from the elections office flagging the problem. But if you’re not sure whether your ballot is one of them, you can check anytime at VotePalmBeach.gov by pulling up the My Status page and entering your information. A blue “RECEIVED” or “COUNTED” tag means you’re all set — no action needed. If the tracker shows up in red, though, that’s your cue to call the Supervisor of Elections Office right away. The office is also urging Vote-by-Mail voters to sign up for BallotTrax, which sends real-time updates on a ballot’s status.
Fixing the problem means filling out a Vote-by-Mail Ballot Signature Cure Affidavit, and the county is giving voters several ways to get it back in. Voters can email a scanned copy or phone photo of the completed affidavit to Votebymail@VotePalmBeach.gov, fax it to (561) 656-6230, or drop it off in person at any of the office’s four Palm Beach County locations. Hours and addresses for each office are posted at VotePalmBeach.gov.
The Supervisor of Elections Office will keep its doors open specifically for this purpose on Thursday, from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Only voters flagged for a signature issue need to take action — everyone else’s Vote-by-Mail ballot is unaffected. By law, the cure deadline is firm: affidavits must be received by 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 20, 2026.
