A child was allegedly run over near Congress and Lowson in Delray Beach Friday afternoon. (Maps: Apple).

DELRAY BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2026 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A child sustained critical injuries Friday afternoon when the child was struck by a vehicle. The child was found under the car. A witness allegedly told first responders that the driver drover over the child’s head.

BocaNewsNow.com has learned that the crash happened in the area of 1001 South Congress Avenue in Delray around 3:15 p.m. Multiple rescuers rushed to the scene. Both the child — and an adult — were found with injuries. The adult’s condition is unclear.

It is unknown if the driver stayed at the scene after the incident. It is unknown if the driver intended to strike pedestrians.

The Delray Beach Police Department is investigating.
