BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2026 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A child in South Palm Beach County sustained critical injures Tuesday afternoon when he apparently fell from his e-bike at nearly 30 miles per hour. We are not identifying the child’s specific age or where specifically the crash took place. He was rushed to an area hospital.
BocaNewsNow.com has learned that paramedics were frustrated by what they found at the scene. It was not immediately clear if any other vehicle was involved. What’s also unclear is what parent would ever permit a child to ride an e-bike that can hit nearly 30 miles per hour. It is the latest example of what appears to be horrible parenting in South Palm Beach County as children — seemingly every day — are injured on e-bikes they are not trained to ride.
We do not know if the Florida Department of Children and Families has been notified about the crash, or whether the parents of the child could face child endangerment charges.

PARENTS TODAY ARE NOT PARENTING! IT IS SHAMEFUL THE LACK OF JUST SAYING NO AND NOT BEING RESPONSIBLE! IF YOU CAN NOT BE A SKILLED PARENT DO NOT HAVE CHILDREN!
Yes, the parents are at fault. But PBC should pass and enforce laws that prohibit kids under 16 from riding e-bikes. I’m not for big intrusive government but, when parents are too stupid or not diligent about their children’s safety, then laws are necessary.
E-bikes are not the problem, but electric dirt bikes are (i.e., e-moto). These dirt bikes can go 50 or 60 miles an hour and there is no pedaling, just an extremely fast ride. E-bikes, on the other hand, are designed to go 20 miles an hour, but can be set to go to a top speed of 28 mph. While an e-bike is a reasonable form of transportation for responsible kids, dirt bikes are too dangerous for nearly everyone, especially kids, and should be licensed or banned completely.
Kids are using and abusing E-Bikes all the time.
After enough of the children die, the State will step in and ban their use by children.
R-Bikes are MOTORCYCLES! Require driver licenses and license plates… and NOT for children.
I completely agree with all these comments. The kids are on the roads doing wheelies – standing up.
Just on 441 yesterday a kid on one of these bikes driving crazy. They expect you to see them. It has to end.
