PALM BEACH COUNTY, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2026 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A Palm Beach County liquor store is facing a lawsuit after a customer says she tripped over boxes left in an aisle and suffered permanent injuries. Loretta Banks filed the complaint against Super Duper Liquor, Inc., seeking more than the statutory minimum of $50,000 in damages.
According to the complaint obtained by BocaNewsNow.com, Banks was shopping at the Super Duper Liquor store at 614 Belvedere Road on September 4, 2024, when she was searching the shelves for a product around 2:15 p.m. As she turned, she tripped over boxes that had been stacked on the floor behind her in the aisle, according to the filing.
The lawsuit claims Super Duper Liquor knew or should have known that stacking boxes in the walkway created a dangerous tripping hazard, particularly given the narrow width of the store’s aisles. Banks’ attorney argues the company failed to inspect the area, failed to train employees to spot and remove such hazards, and failed to warn customers or provide a safe way around the obstruction.
Banks is being represented by attorney Michael A. Motto of Hicks & Motto, P.A. in Palm Beach Gardens. Super Duper Liquor has not yet filed a response in court records.
