ORLANDO, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2026 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — Suspended Palm Beach County Clerk of Courts Mike Caruso is set to have another pre-trial detention hearing on Friday. Caruso’s attorneys are expected to again seek his release pending trial.
Caruso was arrested on primary Election Day — Tuesday, August 18th — and charged kidnap and child sex abuse. He allegedly abused a young family member. He was taken into custody in Palm Beach County and later extradited to Orange County — the Orlando area — where the alleged crimes occurred.

Caruso says he is not guilty. Florida Governor Ron DeSantis immediately suspended Caruso, a Republican, from his post following the early morning arrest.
