BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2026 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A small fire at the information booth on the Florida Atlantic University campus Thursday morning led to a big response by Boca Raton Fire Rescue.
The response turned out to be more precautionary than anything else. FAU Police officers who first arrived on the scene were able to knock down what is described as an “electrical fire” that was actually burning just outside the building.
While the fire was small, several people saw lots of thick, black smoke. That led to quite a few calls to campus police. Police called Boca Raton Fire to make sure the situation was under control.
No one was injured. Expect some traffic issues on the FAU campus near the information booth probably through noon.
