BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2026 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A West Palm Beach man is facing charges after Boca Raton Police say he fled the scene of a crash that injured another driver, then turned himself in hours later. Liber Idael Victoria, 51, was arrested Wednesday and charged with leaving the scene of a crash involving injuries and driving on a license that had been expired for more than six months, according to a Boca Raton Police report.
BocaNewsNow.com has learned that the crash happened just before 9:15 a.m. at the intersection of Clint Moore Road and NW Broken Sound Parkway. Investigators say a white GMC van driven by Victoria was headed west when it ran a red light and slammed into a white Lincoln Nautilus that was making a left turn. The van kept going, according to police, heading west on Clint Moore Road before turning north onto North Military Trail.
A witness told police she followed the van and watched the driver pull into the parking lot at South County Mental Health, get out and start gathering his belongings before walking away. Boca Raton Police say the witness later identified Victoria as the driver in a photo lineup. Officers also found the van abandoned about 2.7 miles from the crash scene.
According to the arrest report, Victoria called Boca Raton Police dispatch around 10:41 a.m. and said he wanted to turn himself in, admitting he had been driving the van. Police say Victoria told investigators he fled because his license was not valid, and records show it had been expired since 2025. He was taken to Boca Raton Regional Hospital for medical clearance before being booked into the Palm Beach County Main Jail where he remains held on $6,000 bond. We note the Palm Beach County Jail lists his arrest as a crash involving “death.” No one died in this incident.
