DELRAY BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2026 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A body pulled from a lake in the Villages of Oriole on Friday has been identified Monday, according to information obtained by BocaNewsNow.com. The community sits behind the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office District 4 Substation on Atlantic Avenue, just west of Jog Road.
PBSO confirmed the incident Sunday night but did not release identifying information. Police did confirm that they received calls regarding the body and immediately responded to the scene on Friday. Once the body was recovered, it was determined that no foul play was suspected.

BocaNewsNow.com learned from family members that the person found is Leo Bastos, a man who lives in the community and had been missing since Thursday. Bastos, according to a family member, had left the residence on Thursday without his cell phone, hearing aid, or wallet. A neighbor saw him walking in the community in the afternoon.
Frantic family members — starting Thursday evening — contacted police, area hospitals, and others, but efforts to locate the man were unsuccessful until a witness apparently saw his body in the lake Friday morning. A family member was flying to South Florida from Texas to aid in the search at the time that Mr. Bastos’ body was recovered.
