He was just selected as the recipient of the 2026 Florida Fire Chiefs’ Association (FFCA) Safety and Health Award of Excellence, recognizing nearly 25 years of leadership and commitment to the safety, health and wellness of firefighters.

>>Throughout his career, Falcone has championed initiatives focused on firefighter cancer prevention and exposure reduction, physical fitness and readiness, behavioral health and peer support. His work has helped make firefighter health and wellness an integral part of the department’s culture. Through education, coaching, leadership and the development of peer support resources, he has helped create an environment where prevention is prioritized and firefighters are encouraged to seek assistance and support when they need it.
“Captain Falcone’s commitment to the health, safety and well-being of our firefighters is truly exceptional,” said Delray Beach Fire Rescue Chief Ronald Martin. “For nearly 25 years, he has been a leader in recognizing that protecting firefighters means more than responding to emergencies. His efforts have made a difference in the lives of our members and in the culture of our department.”
The FFCA recognized Falcone as an outstanding example of the positive difference one individual can make in the health and well-being of the fire service. The award will be formally presented during the opening ceremonies of the FFCA Safety and Health Conference on October 19, 2026, at Margaritaville Resort Orlando. Falcone and Franco will both receive complimentary registration to the conference as part of the recognition.
