BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2026 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — City Hall is locking its doors for Labor Day. Boca Raton will close all city offices and services on Monday, September 7, 2026, in observance of the holiday, with normal operations resuming Tuesday, September 8.
Trash collection is getting bumped by a day. There will be no sanitation service on Monday, and pickups will shift back accordingly: Monday’s regular route runs Tuesday instead, and Tuesday’s route slides to Wednesday, September 9. Residents unsure of their collection zone can check the city’s sanitation map online. The city is also pushing reminder texts — sign up on the city website, or text “SanitationAlert” (no space) to 38276 — and pointing residents to the Recycle Coach app for sorting questions. Recreation hours are a mixed bag Monday. Parks, beaches and playgrounds stay open on their regular schedule, but community centers vary widely — the Boca Raton Community Center, Sugar Sand Field House and Cemetery Office are closed for the day, while Sugar Sand Community Center runs 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and the Swim & Racquet Community Center, including its splash pad, opens 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Both city libraries, Downtown and Spanish River, will be closed.
The Boca Raton Golf & Racquet Club and Alan C. Alford Red Reef Family Golf Course are open 7 a.m. to sunset, and pool hours run 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. at The Swim Center and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Meadows Park. Racquet sports facilities also stay open, with hours ranging from 7:30 a.m. to as late as 10 p.m. at Patch Reef Park.
