BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2026 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A serious crash Friday night near Palmetto Park Road and North Dixie Highway led to a pregnant woman being airlifted to St. Mary’s Medical Center, and a child being transported to another hospital.

Boca Raton Fire Rescue rushed to the scene around 9:30 p.m. to find a crash involving two cars and three injured people. BocaNewsNow.com has learned that one of the people was identified as a pregnant woman who may have been hit in the stomach by a steering wheel. In Palm Beach County, women who are pregnant are often airlifted to Saint Mary’s Medical Center in West Palm Beach — a leading trauma facility for pregnancy care. Trauma Hawk was dispatched to Boca Raton Airport where the victim was loaded and flown just a short time after the collision.

Also injured in the crash: a child. That child was taken to West Boca Medical Center which has a pediatric care team.

The intersection of Palmetto Park Road and Dixie was closed for several hours following the incident while Boca Raton Police investigated. We’ll update once we receiver more information from Boca PD.
