BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2026 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A teenager was critically injured Monday afternoon when he was apparently struck by a wave runner while in the ocean near South Inlet.

BocaNewsNow.com has learned the child was found unconscious and face down in the water. Boca Raton Fire Rescue paramedics and Boca Raton lifeguards resuscitated the child and rushed him to Hillsboro Park — at 1800 South Dixie Highway — where he was loaded onto Trauma Hawk and flown just minutes away by air to Delray Medical Center.

His condition is unknown.

It’s unclear if police have located the driver of the wave runner and whether or not this is anything other than a horrible accident. Check back for updates.
